I’ve played four soulsbourne titles over the last year or so, and I’ve gotten to a point where I’ve kinda just accepted that no series will ever top this one and no other developer will ever top Fromsoft when it comes to the video game market.

Dark Souls 3, Sekiro, and Elden Ring are probably in my top 5 games of all time, but I just like to say they’re tied because it’s nearly impossible to say one is better than the other - that is until I played Bloodborne. Bloodborne is a flawless game, with little to none of the draw backs that are present in the rest of the series. It’s combat is stellar, the world design is the best I’ve ever seen in fiction, and the score? Jesus christ man. Just listen to any boss theme and you’ll instantly ascend to a new plane. BB really culminates everything about Fromsoft and what they’re good at without having any parts that drag or any moments that are insufferable. It’s the most consistent game I’ve ever played, as it only gets better and better as you progress compared to let’s say Elden Ring which has a weak third act, or Dark Souls 3 which has a weak first act. It’s literally perfect.

And this is something I mentioned very briefly in the last paragraph, but it’s something that needs to be addressed even further. The world and story of Bloodborne are among the best in gaming - Miyazaki and his team at fromsoft excellently craft a dreadful depiction of sadness and pure anxiety unlike any other piece of fiction has done yet. Every corner of the map tells a story and is highly detailed, as if even the most irrelevant spots got someone’s full attention. There is so much care and work put into crafting this world to be SO depressing, and yet, it’s hopeful? Bloodborne, despite having this world, is still hopeful as much as it is dreadful. You look at the world of Bloodborne and see nothing but anguish and despair, and compare that to our world, while it isn’t the best, it’s easy to be grateful for what we have now when looking at a game like this. Sure this might sound cheesy, but it’s true. And another external factor could be the fact due to this being such an incredible fucking game, I had more of a reason to get up every day just so I could play this game - really, this can be said for any FromSoft title that I’ve played so far, but Bloodborne is truly just the highest peak.

Sets out to make rallying as authentic, challenging, and as detailed of an experience as it can be. Courses are long and winding, and with no HUD to rely on you absolutely must be focused and react accordingly to what your co-driver is telling you. There's a decent variety of environments, and there can be no prouder feeling than coming out of a course with your car still functioning.

The game is split between proper rallying and rallycross events, but sadly I don't really care much for rallycross so the massive 100 GB install is just for rallying to me. Still, if that's the kind of experience you are looking for, you can't really go wrong with this.

NANAKO FUCKING DANCING IS THE CUTEST THING EVER

Somehow Angry Birds made a better racing game spinoff than Sonic

Abandoned: I thought this would just be shelved but sometimes you just have to admit to yourself that you are never playing that game again.

As a huge fan of the Sonic Team Racing games on the 360-gen I was hoping this would at least be a good laugh to run through the campaign.

Sadly they came up with one, I think actually good, unique idea and filled the game with shite but not actual content.
Somehow after two good games they've made they game feel worse and the tracks less inspiring - you'd think that may be because instead of Sega as a whole it's just Sonic but genuinely there's enough Sonic they could theme more closely to and it'd be good.

I will finish this with a positive.
I like the "Team" mechanic" the simple follow each other's line for boosts along with sharing power ups is actually quite fun and something I came away from the game thinking "Mario Kart should just steal this as a mode".

I am gonna try to not write a long review for this one because even though Its a short game, having gone for the platinum it has long overstayed its welcome and Im ready to delete it.

Despite that harsh opening, this game honestly wasnt all that bad. Please dont play this without a friend or friend with benefits or brother or sister or grandma or whatever, because I honestly cant imagine this game being very fun solo. It is fully meant to be a co-op game so maybe skip it if nobody loves you.

So the game is basically ratchet and clank gameplay but in a tower defense format. There is only 5 levels and one of them is a reskin so you're not really getting a lot of content here. There is also a multiplayer but it is beyond dead and Im not convinced would of been worth it to begin with. The game does have some decent replay value through medals and challenges and leveling up weapons, so having to replay the levels for the platinum was more fun then it was a bother. Story is whatever, its mildly funny but just there to string everything together. The game is really quite basic but it still does have all the charm you'd come to expect from a Ratchet and Clank game, so as long as you're playing with the right person you'll find this a fun game to beat in a sitting or two. If not, maybe you're not missing much.

Platinum Thoughts: So for the most part going for this platinum was pretty funny. You got some good miscellaneous ones and in general its just a good small trophy list. The hardest among these is to beat three of the levels with developer times, but as long as you attempt these on a second playthrough after you've upgraded most of your guns its pretty fun to try to beat them as quick as possible. They each took us a couple tries but we always were only short by a couple seconds so its a fair challenge without being too much of a pain. So for the most part its a fun not too demanding platinum. But then theres the one trophy that will long outlast all the others. You have to glide, hoverboot and run for a certain amount of miles that even after having beaten each level 2-3+ times we werent even half close too. This took us a few hours of additional grinding. This trophy is just lame, you'll long since have seen everything the game has to offer by the time you unlock it and leaves the game with an unsatisfying feeling upon completion. Worst part is the skill points you can use to track your progress end before you've met the trophy requirement, so you'll just be wandering around for an additional hour hoping you rack up enough time somehow.

All this being said, trophy annoyances don't equate to quality. You'll find that FFA is a respectable if probably unnecessary little co-op game and its worth the short time you'll spend on it if you've got someone to share it with. I'll always be grateful for series I like getting their own wacky little spinoffs and this is no exception

Trophy Completion - 100% (23/23) Platinum #198
Time Played - 13 hours 16 minutes
Nancymeter - 65/100
Game Completion #64 of 2022
May Completion #14

you ever accidentally throw a bomb rock into your entire group of pikmin?..oops

Tell me your favorite pikmin type! Mine is blue pikmin, and of course they were the last ones you get in this game

A magnificent Visual Novel and undeniably the best Type-Moon work in my eyes. The story isn't necessarily complex either, it's simple to understand and it only gets better if you've read previous Type-moon works before it. On top of that it has a phenomenal cast but the ones that stand out the most for me would obviously be the main trio. So many fun dynamics within it's setting with an outstanding presentation that feels downright cinematic at times, and it's incredible to know the second half of the Tsukihime remake will have the same if not better visuals than this

Brilliant, simply brilliant. This game fixed every issue I had with Yakuza 3 and then adds onto it with it's amazing story. The atmosphere in this was unbelievable, while the soundtrack only makes it a hundred times better. Really enjoyed the new addition of 4 different perspectives, with the finale being especially amazing. Can't wait to start 5 soon!

Looking back on this game, it would be almost perfect if it weren't for the gameplay. Has a really nice new cast and shows a new side of Kiryu which makes it all the more better. And the story is one of the better RGG stories told, with an great atmosphere to go along with it.

A game I wish I could give a score higher than 5 stars; easily one of the best RGG games. Everything wrapped up so wonderfully in the end.

I've been meaning to play this for months now, hearing countless praises since it released back in 2021, and my goodness is it well deserved of the praise it gets. The combat here is probably the best combat RGG has made in their games--with style switching that's been tremendously improved from all the way back to Yakuza Zero.

The story is RGG's sublime writing as usual, WAY more intense than it's predecessor with a more powerful message than most, and with the best antagonist in the franchise to date. It's saddens me knowing this is Nagoshi's final RGG game, but it's quite perfect with a conclusion this extraordinary. I could say so much more about this game but I think this encapsulates my thoughts about it well enough.

After playing Vesperia, I started to wonder if Tales games really for me. The combat didn't quite pack the punch that I was hoping for, and while the setting was enjoyable as well as the main character, the overall plot is utter nonsense.

Really unique game. Tackles issues are not commonly seen in video games. Also, the game is directed at more adult gamers. Really cool story, would love it if it was more of an RPG. The gameplay was really a turn-off for me personally. If you like puzzle games this might be more up your alley. The music was a great plus.
