This isn't a huge jump up from Splatoon 1, except for its Salmon Run mode, which is one of the best co-op experiences I've ever had.

This is barebones in hindsight, but it still very much earned its success as a new Nintendo IP.

As someone who just plays this for Tower Defense Simulator or one of the many Obby servers... it's okay, I guess?

I adored this game's Speedkart mode so much, but those days are far behind me now. Sometimes I open the server browser to check if the spark is still burning, but it remains extinguished.

Playing Team Fortress 2 for thousands of hours makes it very, very difficult to click with this... at least its gameplay is based on the masterpiece that is Half-Life.

This review contains spoilers

Do you want to play through the game again under different circumstances? Was visiting Looks to the Moon and/or Five Pebbles your favorite part of the experience? Then you will really enjoy this DLC.
Do you just like the base Survivor/Monk/Hunter campaigns and want to see them fleshed out with more regions and creatures? Then this DLC will fall below your expectations.

This is the best part of the Half-Life 2 saga, containing some cool levels, but it still features the fundamental issues that I have with these games. When comparing it to the rest of the series, I wouldn’t it rank it nearly as high as Opposing Force or Black Mesa.

I… actually quite like this. It’s only a single level, but I think it flows well enough that I’ve replayed it multiple times.
But to score it above the entirety of Episode Two would be horribly foolish.

A fairly interesting set of levels, but also an exhausting set of levels, considering that City 17 and the Citadel are not only the main levels of this game, but also the last two levels of Half-Life 2.
And because this is an extension of Half-Life 2, the gameplay is of course as flawed as ever.

Hunt Down the Freeman, but with the development budget spent on the actual game instead of cutscenes.
This is much better than Half-Life 2, but it inherits a few flaws from that game, and I wish the protagonist would shut the fuck up.

I only bought this game for the PvE events, but still spent a bit of time on the PvP too. Not terrible, but a Team Fortress 2 replacement this isn't, especially with how hero stacking was patched out and role queues were introduced.

What the fuck, there’s way too few reviews, why is Chrome Dino the dedicated shitpost game instead of this?
It may hardly be a game, but it’s one of the most entertaining games I’ve ever experienced.

I wish I could remember most of the educational games I've played when I was very young, but this one remained in my mind because the Krusty Krab tournament mode was just that special.

I spent way more time on this as a kid than I probably should have. Given my current stance against remakes, I would have been very angry with it if it came out today.

This has been aging a bit poorly because Deltarune has much more engaging gameplay to me, and I think a lot of its magic is lost if you don’t go into it blind (given how insanely popular it is, good luck).
I was originally comfortable with giving it 4 stars, but then I remembered how much I enjoyed my own playthroughs, and thought about the implications of scoring it lower than Five Nights at Freddy’s. I was denying its true quality, damn it.
