I don't know how it's possible to remake this part of Final Fantasy VII as a AAA game in 2024 but somehow they pulled it off. It's about as good as I could have hoped for it to be. The ending is insane and I don't know what to make of it yet but as a whole I found the game incredible. I can't wait for part 3.

This game is insanely awesome and I can't wait to jump into Endless mode. The game's systems improve literally every day which keeps the experience pretty fresh. Incredibly impressive project, I really pray this doesn't get taken down.

Yuffie controls like a dream and the writing is on point. If the gameplay here and the banter in the post-credits scene is anything to go by, Rebirth is about to be the best game I play in my life.

When this game is good it's an 11/10 but then it'll plummet to a 5/10 for 2 hours at a time out of nowhere. Has me very excited for the rest of the trilogy though, since I think the rest of the game is better suited for this kind of remake and imo is a lot better than the stuff in Midgar.

Worst video game narrative of all time starring most likable guy of all time.

Man this game's real pleasant. If I had to go on a Pokémon adventure in any region it would definitely be Johto, though that could be a bit of nostalgia speaking. The game has its flaws but I think they form a lot of its charm. Not as objectively good as the Unova games but still exceptional games. Presentation is especially excellent. There's something about the shading in HGSS that makes it so comfy, it jumped out at me immediately.

Aside from a grinding session at the end and a tiny bit of it in the middle, I found the levels totally bearable for the Johto portion. I ran a full team of six acquired at a balanced rate throughout the game, and not a particularly powerful team at that. I definitely see the complaint; I tried to play HG last spring and had to drop it because I couldn't bear the level curve. I have no idea what changed but I had a comfortable time this run. Figured I'd mention it since levels are the most contentious thing about this game.

Better than the first DLC for sure. Game still feels very incomplete and generally lackluster but I enjoyed most of this campaign and the new content it adds is fun enough. This reinforced for me that Pokemon absolutely needs a level-cap option or something. I overleveled by complete accident in this DLC and it felt really lame going from fairly difficult even fights to total pushovers. My experience with the campaign shouldn't suffer because I dared not to blitz through the entire story immediately.

So incredibly mediocre. A very short campaign with a predictable story without very entertaining writing. Caught a shiny Furret though so that's pretty cool.

Like I said in my White 2 review, this is the Pokémon game that's fantastic without an asterisk, the only one actually. Teambuilding is so fun in this game that I beat it twice in the span of less than a month, and Challenge mode added so much replayability. I'm so excited to dive into all of the post-game content, I feel like I'll likely never exhaust everything this game has to offer. Not only the best Pokémon game (full stop, if I put aside my personal bias for PMD2) but also one of the most overall rock solid RPGs I've ever played. No matter how low this franchise continues to fall, I will always have Black and White 2 to return to, reminding me why I love this series so damn much.

The only Pokémon game that's amazing without an asterisk. Unova is even better here than before, and this is by far the most fun game in the series to teambuild for imo. I cannot believe I never beat this game before now. I can't wait to run Black 2 on Challenge Mode with Memory Link stuff, I feel like I haven't even scratched the surface with this game.

(PMD2 is still my #1 though...)

I absolutely adore the first Fuga game. It's not amazing, but it's a very cozy experience that really scratched an itch for me. It appealed to a lot of things I enjoy in games and was such a unique and fun experience that I gave it a pass on a lot of its shortcomings.

With this love of the first game in mind, I had really high hopes for Fuga 2. I followed development religiously and I am fairly confident saying it was my most anticipated game of 2023. The game finally released, and I had a great time with the beginning of it.

As I played more, though, my enthusiasm began to falter a little. I felt like this game had so much potential and, while it was a huge improvement in most aspects over the first game, that passion I had while playing the first game wasn't being recaptured. The story was good, but I felt like it wasn't reaching the heights I had hoped for it.

By the time I reached the finale, though, I was really feeling it again. There were some really nice character moments that pulled me right back in, even if the story was a little all over the place towards the end. Maybe it's just because it had been a while since I'd played, but I felt myself really falling back into the Fuga feeling I loved so much, and my little complaints all fell away like they did in the first game.

I really love both Fuga games, and this game is a pretty huge improvement in most ways over the original. I highly recommend both, even if they're not something everyone is going to enjoy as much as I did. Can't wait for the third game!

So comfy! A very wonderful game all around. The level design is great, the music is atmospheric and catchy, the visuals are really charming, and the story is very simple yet engaging. I feel like this game filled a void for a certain type of game, I had such a good time. This is a new favorite for me, it's bordering on a 10/10.

idk do I really even need to write anything

MBTL is good fun. I don't enjoy it or play it nearly as much as MBAACC but it's cool that they made a new Melty game at all really. It's held back by being a weird TsukiRe prequel AU story or something. Because TsukiRe isn't finished yet you lose out on a lot of potential characters for story reasons. I don't mind Fate characters necessarily but I really don't care for this game having so much Grand Order content especially when you're missing so much of the original game's cast. I personally wouldn't have been as bitter if it was F/SN or Mahoyo stuff instead, but I'm not nearly as engrossed in Type Moon as a lot of people are. If French Bread wanted to make a Type Moon crossover fighter I would be super on board, just don't shove that shit into a Melty Blood game imo.

Still fun though. It's certainly worth trying for big Melty or Tsukihime fans.
