Great soundtrack, great levels, great fun, overall great mod. I hear the story gets explained in the second so I can't wait to hop on that.

There is not much I can really say about the game other than that it's perfect. Everything that made the first game good was made 10 times better. A lot of people say the level design got worse and I may have agreed with it at one point (probably due to the anger I had at the time), but I disagree now. Everything in this game was just so well-crafted and well put together. And most of all the fucking story man and looking back on how much it improved the originals aswell.

This game was just perfection, simply put man.

"Okay. No need to fight it then."

Wow, just wow. Long have I been waiting for something to hit that itch like Katana Zero again, while the answers been infront of my face this whole time. Hotline Miami.

Let me start off with the fact of how hard it was to get started properly. First 4 levels make you feel like you suck at this game HARD. Especially because the game just throws new stuff at you like indoor windows (??) and dogs. But the gameplay loop is just so satisfying to stop.
But once it clicks, it clicks. You start methodically planning out what to do and where to go, who to kill in which order and which to leave for later. You stop even caring how much you die, you just want to get the perfect run. And each time you succeed it feels just as good as the first time. The adrenaline rush you get everytime just adds onto this.

The gameplay is just top notch in general, the amount of ways to plan out and execute each level is one of the games greatest strengths. In general the game doesn't leave much to be desired and I absolutely adore it.

While the story seems a little vague, it's still fantastic overall and I can forgive its vagueness due to there already being a second game, which I'm hoping shows more what the game is actually about.

Overall, crazy good and I'd recommend it to anyone.

Your usual RGG remake (πŸ˜’), but at the same time your usual RGG game and story (😁😁😁)

About the game in itself:
Amazing fucking game from start to finish man, I haven't had this much fun with a game in a LONG while. There's nothing quite like an RGG game and I will always be grateful for it. Story grabs you in and spins you around in many ways but it culminates in a perfect way. The gameplay is fun as per usual, took a bit to get used to since it's not the usual RGG gameplay, but it was fun nonetheless with all the styles. More some than the others, but that's bound to happen. While I only did like 50% of the side content that didn't disappoint either so I had a great time with the game.

About the remake:
While the game being very good, let's talk about the "Kiwami" aspect of it.
I had high hopes that RGG Studio would finally be able to make a great and faithful remake. I was somewhat disappointed in both regards. There are a couple huge bugs in cutscenes, that just ruin the whole cutscene, like character models disappearing. Main one that comes to mind is the one reveal in Teradaya. (I'm not sure if it's because I am playing on an Xbox One though.) There are also a bunch of typos in the dialogue of the game. And while I totally appreciate them bringing back some popular characters like the lieutenants from 0, I absolutely despise the fact it came at the cost of other characters. Other than that though, unlike the other two remakes, the game remained essentially pretty faithful from what I saw, though that's probably cuz this was more of a port from engine to engine than a proper full remake. All in all I believe this was pretty rushed.

Overall however, at the end of the day it's still an RGG game so it's always gonna be "perfect" in my eyes, but I really can't ignore these issues with the remakes. I really wish they would invest more time in properly bringing these games, either old or unlocalized, back to wider audiences. The DLC thing is a whole another problem, that I won't get into, but I really hope RGG sees the error in their ways.

Regardless, thank you RGG for another masterpiece 🫑

5 whole games to reach that climax

Well worth it.
Greatest of all time

I don't think Nero can get better than this

Update: Nero got better

I probably should've played the other Castlevania games before this one, but it was really good nonetheless.

Oh wow they actually said it this time

Really loved it when devil 2 said "I may cry too."

i loved it when devil said "i think i may cry."

I just realized I haven't written a review about one of my most favorite games of all time, so here goes.

Katana Zero. I once saw this game in a video about "unknown indie games" and this one was what piqued my interest the most. I am a huge indie game fan and even if at the time I hadn't played many, I knew I was gonna have fun with this one. The gameplay looked really fun, the music was amazing and the concept about being basically a hitman, but instead clearing out entire buildings seemed really cool to me. What I did not expect going in was to get attached to the characters, let alone love the story as much as I do as to praise it as one of gaming's, if not fiction's, greatest. Everything down to the very last minute detail was an extreme joy to witness as I was slowly progressing through the game. Not to mention the little tiny comedy sequences in the game still are some of the most memorable moments in gaming for me. What I expected the least however is for the game to leave me speechless, confused and down right shocked with the ending. I could go on for hours on end why this game is brilliant and why Justin Strander is a genius of storytelling, but not even that would do it justice.

If you haven't played the game yet, please do so. You may not come out as satisfied as I did, but you will definitely come out with an experience to be remembered.

"Twenty-eight years in that godforsaken jungle. Killing soldiers wasn't so bad... I hardly remember it."

KINO KINO KINO KINO

Everything I would ever want in a sequel has been fulfilled, one of the greatest games of all time has a sequel AFTER 11 YEARS THAT DOES EVERYTHING RIGHT AND MORE.
To the level design, to the newly introduced characters, the story, the music.
EVERYTHING. WAS. PERFECT.

While I was expecting way more as a successor to MGS2 after the ungodly amount of praise, I was a bit disappointed to find out Kojima instead took a completely different path unlike the other 2 games. Though I won't sit here and lie that I didn't enjoy this game. While I cannot speak much on the gameplay itself since I watched a playthrough due to not being able to play the game (thanks Konami), the story was really good and the new characters that were introduced were especially great. A bit more different than the past game where the story is a bit more convoluted, Metal Gear Solid 3 had a bit of a more straightforward story, but I still thoroughly enjoyed it. While I had some issues with it, that being The Boss not getting enough screentime to fully get attached or Raikov's character just being there as a parody to Raiden and adding almost nothing to the story, I still loved the game.

AHHHHH AFTER THE DISAPPOINTMENT THAT WAS AC BROTHERHOOD I DIDNT EXPECT THIS, BUT REVELATIONS WAS SO GOOD

Ezio actually had more of a character this time around, the assassination targets actually made sense, the new location was so beautiful and nice to traverse, Yusuf and Sofia were such a nice additions to the cast, we got to see more of AltaΓ―r and how his journey ended and at the same time we got to see Ezio's journey end aswell. I don't think I actually have as much complaints about the game as I do Brotherhood, if I actually do have any which do not come to mind, but I loved this game wholeheartedly.

pinnacle of fiction nothing comes close

Update:
I was right.
