Still every bit as fun 20 years after my very first playthrough of it. Absolute classic

I finished my replay of Gow 2

I have to say this game still holds up surprisingly well, it does have rough edges tho.
The story, voice acting, level design, gameplay, and puzzles these are the things that still hold up pretty great to good, there were parts of this game where i was genuinely shocked at how much they achieved on ps2, the set pieces the interconnected levels, the platforming it is certainly one of the peaks of game design, and this ost man this shit is as goat and memorable as the soft reboots.

Visuals are aged quite a bit tho, given it's a PS2 era game, but the art style is still there, and the bigger-than-life vision of devs is banging to say the least.

But hands down the most aged aspect of this game, which can become annoying at times, are its bosses, the dodge and block are not versatile and responsive enough to tackle some of these bosses' moves, and to top it off this fixed camera doesn't help either lol.

Even with this boss unbalancing issue, this is certainly one of the best game created and hands down the most fun (occasionally annoying) game, I have a blast on this replay.

Solid 9/10.

side note man if this game would ever get a remake(not that it requires it) the amount of shit they can achieve without PS2 holding it back and unraveling the full vision of these bigger and amazing levels it would be phenomenal, to say the least

Quite a refreshing open world crime game. It's not concerned with being realistic.. cool arcadey mechanics instead and solid Arkham style combat is what makes Sleeping Dogs relentlessly fun to play. The story though had way more potential. It's short and rushed in about every way, giving you no time to bond with the characters, which is the entire point of it. It's entertaining enough, with some memorable moments sprinkled in.

Finished these DLC's, All 3 episodes are thematically different, so it's fitting I'd review all of them individually.

EPISODE 1: This episode's theme is whimsical, Funny, run and shoot, The writing is really funny, story is light hearted and it is short and sweet, I love rose qwerky nature, and the art style is also very girlish. 8/10

EPISODE 2: This episode is very Puzzle and survival horror focus but IMO it fails to achieve its Survival part and the story it told is also idk what to make of it. 6/10.

EPISODE 3: Ok so I genuinely speechless, this episode is THE MOST REMEDY ass and SAM-LAKE esk ever, the sentiment I had for AW2 which is "There's nothing out there like this in gaming" remains true for this DLC too, I don't wanna say too much about this episode cuz it is expereince on your own from start to finish. SOLID 10/10.

I am happy that SAM and REMEDY are single-handedly bringing fresh new ideas and innovations in gaming and storytelling.

as far as challenge goes this is a breeze as I think remedy themselves just wanted these dlc to not drag and didn't want it to be as survival-oriented as AW2 was

overall I would say 8/10 these episodes are worth playing, plus they are hardly over 90mints long.

Finished my replay of WD1
and had to say when I 1st played this game I was hype for it like everyone else and was disappointed like everyone else cuz it didn't deliver on those high-end visuals, and the sad reality is because of that controversy we just didn't appreciate what great things this game did at the time.

History aside this replay been helluva a ride man, I freaking love this game, and how great of a SP experience this is, this was the time when Ubisoft try to exp with diff stuff before becoming shitsoft and passionless game-pumping factory.
I love how gritty and dark this origin STORY for a vigilante is, wished it was more memorable and Aiden was a bit better acted so he had some charm.
MISSIONS and GAMEPLAY are the high lights of this game, these missions are fun af, and this 3rd person gameplay is just goat af, idk what happened with future WD the guns become toys, but here man they sound great, have weight to them and are impactful.
the animation system deserve big round of applause in this game especially, the walking, running, hiding in car, diff take downs for each gun, its just John wich simulator man.
now this isn't perfect, wished the world was more alive, and dense and hacking was also very serviceable, cars could've used more physics IG, and side activities are cool design around vigilante stuff but they do repeat themselves.

overall as I said playing through this story is amazing, the missions, gameplay and animation and dark tone of the story carry this shit hard for me.
SOLID 8/10

Hades 2 is doesn't really innovate much, but it is more Hades and that is always a good thing. New weapons, new enemies, new bosses, new mechanics, it freshens up the experience by just having a lot of new! If you like Hades 1, you will like Hades 2. I do personally wish they evolved the formula a bit more, as it does feel like a game I've already played.

Definitely one of my favourite gaming experience, knew this game was going to be something special when I booted it up and heard the main title for the first time. Was absolutely addicted to it since the first lunch, exploring different planets and figureing out the mystery of what happened. this game made me happy, sad, laugh, scared, give me existential crisis and chills throughout the game.
The music done by Andrew Prahlow is fantastic,Inspired me to start learning the guitar.
Spoiler warning -

The Nomai were one ambitious race, pushing the boundaries of what seems possible just like the team behind this game.

What a game man, Its been a few years, since I have replayed by goat, but man its an impeccable experience that just goes and doesn't feel like it holds you back. All highs for me.

This was so fun. A collection of what-if scenarios that furthers the point of how Remedy is the only studios capable of delivering experiences like this

RKGK

2024

it is a budgeted title, the art style is hi-fi at home, story is pretty mid/skippable, but the gameplay carries it, good chill vibes, at least until u reach the last boss fight dat us straight up BS lol

This is more of a tech demo than a fully feature complete game, and for its time Crytek was lowkey cooking. The story is pretty generic as it covers the most common tropes already covered in most roman army stories, but the presentation is gorgeous, especially when played at 4K, where the attention to detail really pops out, whether it be textures, environments, effects, or the facial animations, it's impressive. Other than that, it's the the type of game you play to experience once and never touch it again

Every single pixel of this game reeks of style, charm and artistic beauty. Combat can be a bit tough to get used to specially for people wanting to check out SG's works prior to Hades due to its much more strategic nature but I appreciated the change of pace and learned to adapt to it nontheless. Amazing game

"To love again"
Finished my replay of this amazing Story, the remake(lets be real its more of a remaster) has some huge issues with optimisation even in 2024, but the base game is still to this day amazing as it was when I played it 1st time in 2015, the story is amazing and it truly told u the meaning of fatherhood , how u can find love again, visually this remake is great, gameplay, as it was in the original, is still phenomenal, good level design for a 2013 game, and yea I would fuck the whole world to save my daughter, the humanity can go fuck themselves.
the OG game 10/10, this remake after patches and stuff is 9/10
