I hate to admit it but I unironically like fortnite. I think the building mechanics are fun and the weapon selection is also pretty good too. Yeah you can say that it’s fanbase is filled with “try-hards and cringy kids”, but that didn’t stop people from enjoying like every other competitive shooter.

Halo 4 has brilliant contributions to the lore of the series, and an engaging side story with Cortana (that undermines the main story), but it’s overall kind of confusing because they lock essential details behind a 1 minute cutscene that’s hard to follow. The enemy designs and ai have been butchered, and the prometheans are an interesting concept but they are insanely repetitive because they don’t evolve or change over the course of the game. The weapon sandbox sucks. Human/Covenant weapons are mostly useless against the prometheans (who you will be fighting for a majority of the game) so you’re stuck with the promethean weapons which are mostly reskins of the human ones.
TL:DR, it has an interesting story if you’re willing to do your homework but the gameplay is too repetitive and the weapons just aren’t all that fun to use.

Halo 3: ODST is unlike any other halo game before it. Where the others are hopeful and exciting, ODST is bleak and hopeless. The atmosphere is top notch and the soundtrack is stellar. However, the level design is weaker than 3, New Mombasa is an underwhelming “open world”, and thhe game’s great atmosphere is undermined on multiplayer. It’s still a good game though.

The atmosphere is oppressive, the demons are more hellish than ever and the shifting architecture creates dynamic labyrinths which strike the perfect balance between stress and excitement, but I feel as if we’ve taken a step back from Doom 2. Doom 64 is felt like a standard doom game, fun and all in short bursts, but I didn’t find it all that interesting.
Definitely a case of “it didn’t do it for me” rather than a genuinely mediocre videogame. The moody ambient soundtrack is definitely well made but that combined with the somewhat samey feeling levels it made the whole experience blend together. I don’t think I could pinpoint any distinct levels from 64 but I could definitely with doom 1 and 2. The Unmaker is a fine new weapon with a cool gimmick but idk I’ve just come to expect a bit more from doom. It just never really switches it up enough like 2 did, which would throw unique level after unique level at the player. I certainly didn’t leave doom 64 feeling unsatisfied, but I never left feeling all too fulfilled.
TL:DR, pretty decent, just not for me. Maybe I’ll like it more in the future.

I was surprised at how I actually enjoyed this game quite a bit. Case 1 was great, case 2 and 4 were anywhere from fine to good and 3 was pretty bad. But this game doesn’t really have any standout moments like the previous games. That being said though, I can see it being a nice game to recommend to people with little experience in the series (even if the first game does that anyway lol)
