I will go to my deathbed without ever beating this game

Do you like bland world design? Do you like annoying ass generic anime characters? Do you like awful gacha gameplay? If so, then this is certainly the game for you.

Forget Omori, forget To the Moon, forget OneShot, forget Lisa: The Painful or Yume Nikki.

This. THIS is the TRUE masterpiece of RPG Maker games.

You can fight Shell Dan of the "Huge Boom Hypnosis" and tell him "Your show sucks!" to which he will respond...

Zucchini.

For real though. This game is far from amazing. The OST is very avant-garde to say the least and art style is just as "unique" plus the gameplay is very bare-bones and there's a ridiculous amount of typos, but all in all I still enjoyed it due to all the comedic pop culture references and story which takes the piss out of capitalism and corporations in a very humorous way.

Would recommend if you want a short comedic game you can finish in about 4-5 hours.

Oh and you can use a skill called "Pay to win" and just give your enemies money to lose.

After all. It's just business.

🎵drugs drugs🎵 AYO TURN THAT SHIT UP CHARLES” And I am still wondering who is Charles????

In the world there are 7.4 billion people, but also in the United States there are 2.4 million people named Charles. So now that we’ve narrowed it down lets look at Orlando, Florida where Dream lives. Out of the 2.4 million Charles’ there are only 700 living in Orlando Florida and out of those 700 there realistically could only be 7 people he could be talking about because there are around 100 regions where Dream could be in that another Charles could be in and out of those 7 people the average white male (Dream) in this case only interacts with in a day is 4 so there could only be about 2 Charles he is talking about and the average human usually knows 3 Charles in there lifetime which leads us into this endless math loop so chances are he saw a Charles at some point whilst outside (unless hes scared to go outside haven’t seen the light in ages) then his brain remembered the name and when going to think of someone to use whilst tweeting he said Charles From the True Realm.

I wish this could go up to TEN stars

It's VERY fun, and you get to explore and build, kill enemies and gain xp so you can enchant your weapons with loads of different enchants and there's a bunch of mobs and different dimensions, and even the Warden which is a different boss and the ally which is pretty cool that it can hold up items and give them to you in that world and the Deep Dark Biome which is SPOOKY, and Chest Boats which is a boat with a chest inside it and it is very fun and there are thousands of blocks and millions of items and tons of crafting recipes and even unobtainable items like the Debug Stick or the invisible item frame and also Hardcore Mode! If you die then you lost the world forever. Game Over! And the only thing that you can do about that world is spectate it, so that means you can like watch it.

And overall, I think Minecraft is a very good game.

You get to catch LOTS of Pokemon, you get to sleep, and the Pokemon get to sleep when YOU sleep. There's Alpha Pokemon which have- which are Pokemon that have RED EYES and that are big.

You get to catch a lot of Bugsnax. They're half Bug and half Snax. You get to feed people Bugsnax and that's it!

No that's not it. There's new places that you get to explore and catch Bugsnax, that's it.

3 because it's Mario 3D All-Stars and there's 3 games in one and I want to do the same review as my brother and that's my review!

--- Summary, Full Review + Trophy experience ---

🧾 Summary:

This is my introduction into FF series and overall i had a great experience. Many of my views should be viewed from the eyes of a complete new comer. The game has the making of a near perfect game but stumbles heavily with its overly padded and boring levels at various parts of the game. The padding is so blatant that it reminds us that too much of a good thing, is still too much! Though so much time was spent on this game and its combat, its sorely lacking competent AI or AI programming that games like Tales of Arise have. FF7 is chalk full of things that are great, like its presentation, perfect looking character models (TIfa 💗 ), perfect cut scenes, voice acting, crazy boss battles and mini boss battles, and more,. I think its definitely worth playing. I wish they shortened the game and focused on the memorable parts! Lets dive in.

📚 Full Review:

🎮 Platform: PS5
⌚ Time to finish - 33h ( main game + 24 side quests + DLC + some challenges)
🏆Trophy completion - 50% - This is absolutely a game I went in wanting to 100% and then realized that its horrible to 100%. There are difficulty trophies, many trophies are unlocked after MULTIPLE playthroughs of the same chapters. The chapter select always puts you at the start of a chapter and you cannot jump to mid chapter beats. You can't access combat simulators for those trophies without actually playing the chapter all over again. In addition the game is very boring at times, and Cloud moves deliberately slowly, and you have to put up with all that again and again. No thanks! Unless you are crazy about this game, I do not recommend a plat. I guarantee plat this game would drop this score to a 2.5/5.

🤬Difficulty - The game is generally fair in its difficulty. However, hard difficulty is very hard. You need to swap out gems, and have certain gear like Gotterdammerung to make hard manageable for regular skilled people. If you love a good challenge you will like hard. I don't want to spend that much time in a game getting good at it. I just need to get past hard for a platinum. :)

🌄Graphics – A+
The cut scenes in this game are absolutely amazing and perfect. I could just watch it over and over again. The graphics are great as well but you can only see post apocalyptic slums so long. The battle animations are excellent as well.

🌦 Atmosphere/Music – A+
Amazing score. There are so many tracks that I never felt anything was repetitive.

📚 Main Story / Characters – B
The story was fine. There is so much to say about it. It starts of about eco-terrorism. Not really a hook for me. Starts introducing supernatural elements and Sephiroth. Huh? Moves into full on genetic experimentation or something. Ends with boss after boss battles and an ancient race of beings introduced along with aliens. I didn't realize Shinra was an energy company, a military company, a genetics company, and more.

I really liked how fleshed out all the main characters were and they were all likeable. But they are all cliche characters. Of course the least interesting is the main character, as expected in rpgs, is well Cloud. Is this a rpg staple that the main char has to be the most boring one? and also reject women swooning over him for no reason?

I liked everyone else although. Barrett was your cliche tank brute with a soft spot for his daughter, Aerith was overly cute helpless girl, Tifa was sexy badass, wedge was your pudgie funny comic relief. Everyone just fits into the common tropes. I have a huge crush on Tifa!!

Reading others reviews there are some reveals at the end that are geared towards people who know the lore. I had no clue what these reveals meant and had to look it up. Still didn’t understand the implications. So some of the content is geared towards longtime fans.

🤺 Combat – B+
Trash mob combat - spam your square button. Not very interesting but flashy fast and fun.

Mini boss battles - hell house was a stand out. The mini bosses like Reno, Rude, hell house, roche, and more were so cool. I really liked all those fights!

Boss battles/vr - super fun!

I enjoyed playing with the materia setup. But some are just way more useful than others.

Overall my main gripe with combat is that you have to micro manage everything because there is no good AI or AI programming for your partners. AI also fill up their guages soooooo slowly... why?!?! Only char I did not like using was Aerith. Rest were fun! Towards the end i got tired of so much micro management, i just switched to easy come ch 15 or so.

🧭 Side Activities / Exploration – C
Boring side activities. Collect cats, kids, go kill a monster, which you already have done a 1000 times. Some activities are very tedious like pull up challenge. Box challenge was fun. There is soooo much to do in this game. Unfortunately lot of it is hit or miss.

The levels are also not very interesating. After a while you see hallways after hallways. And puzzles thrown in simply to slow your movement through them. The game deliberately pads its length. The worst offender is chapter 14. One of the main badasses loses a KEY to a sewer rat and you go on a 1.5 hr chase to get this key back. Are you kidding me?

🚗 Movement/Physics – D

I absolutely HATE how the game forces cloud to slow down his walking speed. This must have added at least an hour or more to the game and the big reason why I said forget 100% this game.

📣 Voice acting – A+
Excellent. The script however suffers from your classic JRPG tropes of a female throwing herself at a guy who is playing hard to get/acts like he doesnt care but does, and she is not self respecting enough to move on. So annoying! Can we get past the tennage angsty jprg scripts please.

🥇 Best thing about the game - Tifa and the cut scenes. The presentation and the boss battles.

👎 Worst thing about the game - Cloud's movement and padded gameplay.

🏆🏆🏆 Trophy Tips 🏆🏆🏆
Don't bother, but if you want to make sure you are lvl 50, fully leveled your materia (hp + MP + heal + synergy+more), and have gotten a Gotterdammerung .

i might be biased in this review because i had the whole story spoiled for me because i actually had dropped this game twice(over the course of a year), watched the movies and figured that would be my p3 experience. there was always something in my head telling me to play it, so i finally cracked and decided to beat it and not drop it. going in knowing everything made me enjoy it less, probably. and that kinda sucks. but it is what it is.

8/10

i dont like the gameplay. tactics is fine when it works, and is a pretty cool concept. makes you feel like youre actually leading a group, lol. however it doesnt work a lot of the time. even then, my biggest critique on the gameplay is how rng based it is. it is very clearly the first incarnation of the one more system, and thats a theme youll see a lot with this game. growing pains. they struck gold with the hybrid rpg-social sim but there are visible growing pains from the transition of what p1 and 2 were to what it the series became that wouldnt be ironed out to perfection till 4 and 5. some examples are better gameplay and party member social links for the dudes, and not forcing a harem. despite all this, persona 3 still feels the most organic of the nusona trilogy to me. the characters dont just congregate around the mc, they each have their own aspirations and connections to other party members. their second awakening isnt tied to the protag. the characters can't go to tartarus some days because they have other stuff to do. all this makes it feel like a very organic experience, wheras in 4 and 5 it can feel like the world revolves around you. hmmm what else...
the soundtrack is banging as expected. i think i prefer the movie osts more tho. cant go wrong with light in starless sky

i enjoyed my time with persona 3. i think its the weakest in the nusona trilogy, but im a sucker for the persona games and thus i still enjoyed it a fuck ton. even cried at the ending despite knowing what would happen

pro tip: tartarus grinding is slow and boring, battle animations take forever que up some mid romcoms/slice of life anime and video essays on squeenix games to at least have something to listen/watch while going through tartarus. turbo mode is very helpful, lol

My opinion is quite mixed as I really liked a lot of what it had to offer yet at the same time I despised the questionable design choices for a good chunk of the bosses and levels. I'll keep the review brief as I don't really have all that much to say about it given how short the game is

What I liked:
Most of the bosses were very well designed with incredibly multifaceted movesets that make the challenge of learning/mastering them not only worthwhile but insanely entertaining at the same time. Though, this is more applicable towards the airplane bosses as they turned out to be far more polished than most of the regular ones. My favorites being; Cala Maria, Dr. Kahl's Robot, Wally Warbles and of course, Phantom Express

What I didn't like:
I straight out despise how RNG heavy a good chunk of the bosses are. It's like they were hell bent on ruining perfectly fine bosses with miserable design choices which lead me to restarting a lot of the bosses even after clearing them just because I got it too easy and the boss didn't even do half of their more deadlier attacks. And that leads to a lot of the victories not being quite earned.
The final stretch of the game was just disappointing to say the least and I don't like the Run & Gun Levels either, they're just not fun.

Despite how polarized I'm about this game I'll still check out the DLC that drops within a month

Honestly I think the OG version is better, story wise. Royal tries to get serious in the 3rd semester but it doesn't work cause the game raises a good moral dilemma but can't have a good conversation about it cause the protagonist doesn't fucking talk, Akechi, Kasumi and Maruki are all gold in this though. I do think Ryuji, Morgana and Haru as well as the 3 motioned before have a good perspective on the general moral dilemma that gets brought up in the last semester. I also think it's weird that the protagonist makes so many big decisions for other people rather than letting them choose themselves. the game expects me to side with the silent protagonist instantly which sucks especially here cause in OG it's easy to side with Joker since god has come down to fuck his life over it's dumb and easy to get behind classic JRPG but in Royal they try to make a conversation but can't. I still respect it though Royal is my fav game of all time regardless of it I still love the 3rd semester this is all just the way I see it. Also Akechi is the MVP

An insane amount of content for only $10, Genius Sonority proves that they can make quality original titles and should be allowed to do so more often. The whole game has this offbeat, electronically-themed charm to it (assisted particularly by the soundtrack, featuring heavy use of these quirky-sounding synths). The overworld is a ton of fun to explore and there are a lot of optional things to do. There's even an online PVP mode if you're interested in that kind of thing!

The gameplay, story, and characters follow your typical JRPG tropes, but as previously mentioned, the charm of the game's presentation make them fun and memorable. Plus, it's always cool to find a Denpa Man in the wild with an antenna you haven't seen before, unlocking new abilities for combat. My only real problem with the game is that it has an admittedly massive grinding problem; you have to grind a lot in this game, and so it asks for a lot of your patience, but I think the rest of the game largely makes up for it.

I might be a bit biased, since this game was pretty much my introduction to traditional-style JRPGs (now my favorite genre) but in my opinion, this game is the true hidden gem of the 3DS's library, and it'll be a shame when it becomes widely unavailable once the eShop closes. Hopefully one day Genius Sonority will be allowed to go back to making games that aren't just mobile Pokémon spin-offs.

Fun time, but fuck whoever thought it'd be a good idea to implement a premium currency
