Final Fantasy VII

Overflowing with passion and heart, this a story filled with connections wherein we search for reason, power and meaning within ourselves.

An efficient cast and world showcased in such an immersive way be it through the storytelling, perfect soundtrack or compelling visuals that allow for some of the most effective ambience I've experienced in anything.

A brilliant, heartfelt game that I'll cherish forever as an emblematic piece of (my) gaming history!

Building off from Y6, the cycle of a chained life continues to be unbreakable for Kiryu. An unending fight and this time the decades of relentlessly putting others lives over his own feels just a bit more heavy, more painful. Repressing his emotions deep within, feverishly scrambling, but still hiding behind that calm, stoic act.

Kiryu's way of life and how he chooses to act for others is present once again, cementing that that side of him will never change, even after the several name and lifestyle changes, it's still him. He spent decades stubbornly fighting for the yakuza and for what he believed in, but this time it's them that have to be sacrificed, not Kiryu himself. The decades, history and blood shed will be erased and Shishido plays a perfect fit as the antagonist and vanguard for the old-school yakuza. Also, I love how we tackle and portray Kiryu's legend and what it means at this point in his life.

The presence of the kids and the orphanage is incredibly cruel and heartbreaking, all the way up to the climax of the game where it hits like a fucking truck and I swear that's the most I've cried in forever. Probably my favorite scene in the entirety of Yakuza, full of what makes Kiryu so powerful and a once in a lifetime character. Add to that the incredibly smart use of Yumi and the weight she carries, something that felt missing since her first introduction. Kiryu's journey started with the ring and it now finishes with it, leaving all of that behind but this time not selflessly.

The game's visuals, soundtrack, and overall aesthetic are seriously outstanding as well. Thank you RGG for another very special entry to the franchise.

A little courageous and lively sheep goes through a deep, dystopian adventure, befriends an anguished bear and confronts the divine. Of course this would be amazing.

I had nightmares about this as a kid.

Yakuza 6.

Where to even start.

The importance of family and parenthood. Attaining value in
yourself through their eyes and finding solace.

I'm gonna avoid specifics, but I believe Kiryu's arc to be (I'm still dwelling on this...) the overall best, most compelling and satisfying of the whole series. It's the climax of not only the themes of 6 but also the decades built from 0 to 5.

The letter to Daigo (his sonnnnnnnn) trusting him to talk peace through and bring rest to the countless wars ultimately sacrificing his life and relationships. The metaphor with Haruto, both heading, with baby steps, towards a life a new. I
can't quite put into words how much this meant to me.

I'm not so sure yet, but perhaps...... maybe......... Y6 is my new top 1

THE AMBIENCE. THE MUSIC. and yeah the rest is decent I guess.

DREAAMSSS. Can't stress what dreams mean to me and Y5 nails it.

MAN. I think this is the one where I ugly cried the most.

The symbolism and poetry of it all with the themes of dreams and inheritence of said dreams was amazingly done plus all the dynamics. Park/Haruka, Kiryu/Haruka and especially Shinada/Takasugi, like, how am I going to recover from those two... Instant favs.

Only thing I didn't quite like was Majima but oh well. Can't wait for 6 and onwards.
