This is a weird one. The game is pretty fun in general, the management is interesting and you can do completely different builds depending on what you are looking for.

The main issue I have is that it overstays its welcome. It takes a long time after Chapter 2 to advance to the next chapter, the story doesn't really develop for a long time and then it throws a lot of story segments at the end all at once. The ending is also not very good as nothing is really explained and the plot is not actually completed by the end of the game, you just get loose ends and a very sudden "to be continued" screen.

Overall I had fun, it's a comfy game to play when you don't want to think too hard. The pop culture references are everywhere and the soundtrack is great. I recommend it if you are looking for a game to play for a little bit every day without a lot of commitment.

I would say this game is the definitive multiplayer experience.

Nothing is more fun than joining a queue with friends and working together to make the best strategy to kill a strong bug or robot, or ending up dead in the most dumb way possible while your teammates are running for their lives.

Shooting with every gun feels really good, the impact of the shots and the sound design is amazing. Using bombs to explode dozens of enemies at once is as satisfying as it can be.

All in all, this game is great when it works. It just has a LOT OF BUGS(not the Terminid ones you kill in-game). It seems like the game is barely holding itself together as any new patch that fixes something breaks something else. It's frustrating to try and connect to a lobby just to get stuck on a menu. I expect these issues to be solved with time, but until then, the game could be better. Once the issues are fixed, I will be able to say this may be my favorite multiplayer shooter I've played ever. Until then, it's just a great game with problems.

Bittersweet. This sums up my experience with the game.

Performance is awful on the PS5, the game slows down a LOT in some of the many intense fights you have. That's not acceptable for a game in 2024, and it doesn't even have a performance mode which is just standard for most console games at this point.

Exploration in this game can be fun, and it is most of the time as you get great rewards for exploring. It would be better if you were not attacked for the same 5 or 6 weak enemies throughout the whole game at every single corner. It seems like the game is saying "yeah, explore, but not too much". Seems counter-productive to me. Also, Pawns(and other NPCs) are annoying and super dumb, getting stuck on nothing, not doing what you ask them do, really not as good as I was expecting from other reviews.

Another thing that bothers me, and this comes down to preference, is how punishing the game is. It's not that it's hard, the combat itself is actually very easy. My issue is that the game says a big "f* you" if you make a single mistake. I spent 6 or 7 hours working on my Sphynx side quest, just to have it end for a dumb mistake I made, now I can only do it again if I start a New Game and go through another 40-60h playthrough. I understand the developer wants me to play multiple times, but I just don't have the time to play a game this long multiple times just because I made a single mistake. It's really frustrating and it made me not want to come back for the game.

Now the good(there is some good stuff, believe me), the combat is insanely fun, I tried 4 or 5 vocations and they were all fun and broken on their own way. Melting the HP of giant enemies with the Thief was SUPER fun and satisfying. The characters are also very interesting, especially in the first half of the game in Vernworth. Fighting giant Dragons and other creatures is very cinematic and puts on the edge of your seat(even if the fights are all pretty easy).

I really wish I could like this game more, it has a lot of stuff I enjoy, but it just feels like it cancels itself when it puts you in a huge open world full of interesting places to explore, but also puts every obstacle imaginable to make exploration a job, and not something fun. It feels like the game wants me to waste my time when it expects me to go by foot through the same route I already explored 3 or 4 times, while fighting the same enemies I fought hundreds of times previously. Unfortunately, I don't think I'll come back to finish the post game or for a New Game Plus, it's just a frustrating experience, even though it has lots of fun stuff to do.

A great game that is 20 hours too long.

I like this game, I really do, the story, the characters, the combat, even some of the side quests.

I just wish the game wasn't filed with fetch quests between each main quest. These took too much time and me drop the game for a few weeks after playing it again, just because they were too boring to do.

That said, the Main Quest is insanely good, very anime, the best kind of anime I would say. The fights are intense, characters are super interesting and the soundtrack is probably one of the best soundtracks in a Final Fantasy game to date. Boss fights are out of this world too, lots of particles and giant monsters fighting each other, I couldn't ask for anything better.

Overall, it's a great game, maybe not what you expect from a Final Fantasy game, but I would recommend giving it a shot. Just expect to take some time to finish it, it's longer than it should be.

A CLONE FROM GOD OF WAR (but a good one)!!!!

This is straight up the same as the original God of War games, the action is great, and the structure is very similar, but that's not a bad thing. Dante's Inferno is a very good God of War game, without the God of War name.

The soundtrack is great, the gameplay is snappy and fun, and you never get tired of throwing crosses or slashing demons with your scythe. Parrying is super satisfying as well.

There are some bullshit segments, like the elevator where you need to pull a lever while fighting some annoying enemies and being quick enough to not be burned to death, but that's not exclusive to this game, God of War also had these moments, so that's not the end of the world.

The enemy designs are super edgy and over the top, I love it. Every time a new enemy would appear I would cringe in my chair with disgust trying to figure out what I was looking at, can't recommend it enough.

Play it if you haven't. It's sad this game doesn't get as much attention as it should, I wish we could get a sequel as was hinted by the end of the game :(

I played the PS4 version on a PS5, it's the first time playing this game.

The gameplay here is top tier, as it's expected from Platinum Games, but everything else is super boring. The gun upgrading system is very engaging and it makes you want to try out different weapons. It would get old fast if the game was any longer, but it's short enough to keep things interesting for the whole game.

Story and characters are all "US good, Russia bad, protect America", which is boring and not interesting at all. Non of the characters have any background or traits that make them interesting. I understand this is not a story-driven game, but I believe the story should be at least engaging, but it's definitely not.

Overall, it's worth a play as it's a short game and the gameplay is very fun, sliding around on your knees never loses the appeal. 3/5 is more than enough for this one.

First Fight Night game I played and it's really good. The Champion Mode is actually really fun, it feels like a classic boxing movie.

The controls can be tricky as the game is very technical(I still don't get how blocking works tbh), but they are very snappy and feel very good. All the punches feel believable, especially for a 2011 game.

Last fight on Champion Mode felt like literal hell, super hard and unfair. Frost's punches felt like cannons any time they connected, didn't really have any fun in this particular fight, I feel like it was not well balanced.

Overall, a pretty fun game and playing with friends must be really good as the fights go on for quite a long time and can be decided in a single punch.

This is what you would expect of a game adaptation of a 90s edgy comicbook written by Garth Ennis.

Gunplay is fun in general, it has a Bioshock vibe to it, with the first person shooting and the powers. It can be pretty fun at times. The story is very cliche as you can imagine, but it's engagin enough and the voice actor for the Darkness went all out with the screams and all, really funny.

Framerate is all over the place though, jesus christ, the game feels like a slideshow sometimes and the graphics are not particularly good either. They went for a comicbook look, which I appreciate, but the textures are VERY low and there's a lot of pop in and low-res object that are right in front of you.

With everything said, I'd say this is a fun enough game, it's good to spend a few hours shooting some guys and slicing them to pieces with Jackie's powers. It's a short game, so you can play it if you have the chance, but I wouldn't go out of my way to play it over other games.

Mistral 😳

I really like the concept of this DLC, its short and we get some background on Blade Wolf, which is worth it by itself.

Combat is difficult here, but you are not really supposed to fight. Even the last fight can be tackled very easily by using stealth halfway through.

I think it's better than Sam's DLC, the stealth is fun and completing it gets you a lot of BP, which can be used to customize Raiden for future playthroughs. Very worth it.

Sam is super thick, holy sheet I wish my thighs were like his.

Also, last boss is super hard, it's a hell of a jump in difficulty from the main game and sam doesn't have as many moves as Raiden, which is challenging in a higher difficulty.

All in all, fun little DLC, could be better but it's alright. Playing as Sam is very fun.

I don't think this game is for me. I'm into horror games but the ones who don't let you actually do anything against the enemy other than run are not my cup of tea. It gets frustrating and repetitive if you die, instead of actually being scary, cause you know what will happen next time. I think it's a cheap way of doing horror and I respect who likes it, but it's really not for me and it's what made me drop this game.

The story while interesting is nothing new. A teenager feels guilty about the death of a friend and goes through a journey to learn more about herself and what happened. It's really generic, but I think the game does make it sound interesting in a way.

Gameplay is not a thing here. You walk and open doors. That's basically it. If a scary monster is following you, the character will run automatically.

I wish I could like this more and finish it to have a better opinion on the story, but I feel like not finishing it is not my fault. The game is just not what I enjoy in horror.

2023

Short little gem.

I was not expecting to get emotional with such a short game. I heard some people praising this game and it being a short one made me want to give it a try. I woke up on a Sunday morning and decided to play it.

The art is super charming, it looks like a kid's book and it fits the type of game very well. The sound design is also amazing, everything you do has a very satisfying sound. The songs were also great, I even searched some of them after I was done cause they were all so interesting.

In short, this is a cooking game. But not just that, it's a story-driven cooking game. For most of the game, you play as an Indian woman who moved to Canada with her husband to try a new life. Soon, they discover they will have a kid, and the game touches on the struggles of raising a son in a totally different culture.

The cooking part is short and simple. You cook Indian recipes at different stages of the family life. It's a really cool concept because food is a big part of Indian culture and it's really well-represented in this game as it shows how food can be a big part of a mother-son relationship. I won't get into details, but it made me cry at the end, as some of the subjects the game touches upon were very close to my heart.

Please, play this game, you can finish it in an hour and I'm sure you won't regret it, it's one of the biggest surprises I had recently and I wish I played this earlier.

Oh boy, what a masterpiece. Everything here oozes style. This game could be released today and people would play the hell out of it without knowing it's a game from 2013.

This is the second time I play this game. I played it once when it released, but did not enjoy it very much at the time as I couldn't grasp the mechanics and thought it was too hard for me. Now I decided to give it a shot once again and learn it properly.

The game can be very hard if you don't master the parry, but once you do, the game becomes a cakewalk, at least on normal(I will not try higher difficulties, I'm not crazy enough for that). You slash through enemies like butter and the parry makes you pretty much invincible.

The gameplay in general is pretty much perfect. It's Platinum doing what they do best. Blade Mode is super fun, you cut through everything as many times as you want. You see a car? You can cut it in tiny little pieces. You see an enemy? You can do that to him as well(you probably will do that hundreds of times).

If I had to pick something to complain, it would be the camera. Most of the difficulty I had with the game was just the camera not working properly or just going crazy. It could be better but it doesn't hurt the game a lot, Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is still a very solid game and worth playing in 2024.

I wish I could like this game. It's really charming, the sprites are all super cute and it has references to a bunch of classic JRPGs.

Unfortunately, the gameplay is kinda boring. I understand it's meant to be a game for kids, but I think it's too simple to be interesting for too long. It lacks depth and it felt repetitive very quickly. I thought it was very unique at first, and it is, but after just a few hours I noticed it would be the same thing over and over with little to no changes, so I was disappointed.

That said, this is a Dragon Quest game, so the songs are on point. The art is incredible, each character has its own personality and the sprite-work is super pretty. Too bad this game is not for me, I think if I played this when I was a kid, I would have loved it.

I never finished the original game on PS2. I always got to kill 10-12 colossi and then gave up cause I was too dumb of a kid to understand what to do next. Between some longer games, I decided I was going to correct that, and started my journey with this game again.

It's crazy how this game holds up to this day. The remake is stunning, the visuals are incredible and I kept wanting to explore just to see the world.

The gameplay is kinda clunky but I don't think that's a bad thing. It works extremely well in this case and I think it adds to the experience. Wander is not a superhero. He's a regular guy who struggles to even swing a sword properly.

The fights are all amazing, some being way better than others(the tiny tiger colossus is very boring). The songs are some of the best you can find in video games, for real, they set the mood of whatever you are doing in a way that few games were able to achieve.

All in all, a fantastic game. The remake changes little things, but the gameplay in general is the same I remember. Being able to fight the giant guys with a stable framerate and stunning visuals is a hell of a plus. Can't recommend it enough.
