Will become entirely obsolete once the sequel drops, sucks real bad that Nickelodeon has to be a typical corporation and test us with shit like this. The devs deserve better they've only ever shown that they really do care. If this sequel doesn't absolutely blow everyone away right at launch then they're just done for
pretty good the direction is amazing but doesnt get a five star cuz there is some weird game design still but yeah like everything is so expressive and its super cool for that but there is stuff like the dumb search parties
difficulty is pretty good you'll end up surprised at certain parts. still havent 100% because i havent beaten the final challenge

short but sweet, not much to say about it
stands out for being a weirder entry compared to other mario games

According to other reviews here people seem to believe this is a bad port but it was my first time fully playing through Mega Man 1-3 and I didn't really notice anything that I didn't remember being just as bad in the NES versions but I could be wrong
Actually finishing these games is a bit weird because I went a really long time thinking these games were all like this horribly unforgiving experience but honestly, they're really not all that hard at all if you just know what to do. Especially once you get access to E-Tanks the checkpoints are honestly much more forgiving than most NES era games :v
Most of the frustration comes with just certain particular game design choices rather than the actual difficulty of the game. Though, you can see that the criticism was taken by the developers as these games released because in these first three games alone it is certainly noticeable how certain problems from the first game are fixed in the second, then problems still in the second fixed in the third. Things like only being able to carry 4 E-Tanks in Mega Man 2 for example, just seems kind of counter-intuitive if the point is that you're supposed to save them.
Overall not bad though or anything I liked them and I think I understand why people seem to consider 2 one of the best of the three. It is definitely the most memorable I'd say. Even though there are some things in 3 that make it less frustrating it's also a bit more boring.

such a vibe but that's probably what carries it, gameplay is very solid but still pretty basic and the level design has definitely aged. nonetheless its just kinda a work of art of a game its so pleasing to play for the music and graphics and just overall tone almost like a neat time capsule in a way

Feels a lot more modern than the others. Also looks really good for an NES game, looks almost like an early Sega Genesis game in some parts. Took a huge break between 1-3 on the Wily Wars to this. Was gonna replay 2 and 3 through the NES versions but realized I like, don't really wanna do that teehee.

I feel similar to how I did with 5, maybe I think this one's even a little worse. It's still a fine game as part of the series but just if I had to rank them this would probably be one of my least favorites if not my least favorite. Pretty much all of the abilities just feel like ones from previous games slightly tweaked. (At least the Jet and Power suits are pretty cool additions.)

I actually completed the Pokedex for this recent playthrough (including Mew and Missingno) as well as messed around with importing some mons to Pokemon Stadium, pretty neat stuff even if it's a bit of a hassle to do via emulation Id love to one day be able to do it all with real hardware one day
The novelty of gen 1 for stuff like this still stands, there's not much quite like it, even though outside of doing it for said novelty playing gen 1 nowadays is arguably pretty redundant considering the abundance of arguably much better ways to experience Kanto be it rom hacks or official releases. Hell you can play the 3DS virtual console version and even be able to transfer to Pokemon Bank/Home from there, I'll probably get around to that too someday but for now I was content with this emulation playthrough
