Microtransactions, Premium Currencies, Battlepasses, and a $45 price tag. My dude, you were competing with both free games (i.e rom hacks) and brand loyalty. You never stood a chance. 4/10.

I just noticed my boy Yellow isn't even in the game's cover art which explains a lot about the demographic this game aims for....
Games kinda mid, just gonna be honest. It's lacking a mechanic to truly make it as satisfying as its competitors in the Action Shooter genre, despite the obvious creativity displayed in the game's movement systems and its inherent speedrunning Modus operandi. The story could've been that push this game needed for me to call it good but since it was seemingly aiming for a generic anime esq. aesthetic (with its "cringe" dialogue and absurdly buxom female protags) that failed to show up. I'd give it a "Hey I like titties as much as the next guy" out of five.

I always make sure to play this game with some form of alcohol in my hand... which may or may not be affecting my perception of the quality of this game. Eh, who cares, BOTTOMS UP!

Space is a beautiful place until it isn't anymore. If you read between the lines you'll understand how literal that sentence is. Outer Wilds shows you the beauty in brevity and an intense appreciation of environmental storytelling which absolutely carries the experience through a bread crumb trail of scientific inquiries, alien conversation, and an existence-bending event linked to it all. You'll be enticed by it all within the first 22 minutes (exactly) I can bet on it.

It's a 9/10 modded, but then again that's a given considering this is a game by Obsidian (you can put Bethesda in the same boat).

You will be racist. You will be violent. You will be pathetic. You have no choice and all the choices at the same time. A game that teaches you the world mantra of "Since everything is political, that means everything is stupid", and so much more. Another game that you'll leave behind a changed person.
