I played this game only during meetings at work and somehow it still bored me more or less as much as the meetings themselves.
If there will be any sequel, I hope they will focus only on some costumes because everything felt too gimmicky and some costumes were straight up boring and/or uninteresting (mhm baker and detective for instance).
Peach in her games: I am gonna slay everything
Peach in most of the Mario games: hehe guess I'll die
I know I am not the main target of this game but man do I feel old.

This DLC managed to make me realize how shitty Like a Dragon Gaiden is as a standalone game (where the only redeemable think is the last chapter).
Who would have guessed that if you scale down the plot, don't make everything about big conspiracies and plots to rule the underground/politics and make it personal it to the characters, it will turn out to be a solid story.
If you use any healing/boost items during the last boss, you don't have an ounce of honor in your body.
My body craves Judgment 3 but knowing Nagoshi is not around anymore and how greedy Sega is, I don't know if I want it anymore.

Overall a surprising blind purchase I've made that turned out to be a very cute and well designed puzzle game. There is a simple but cozy story with nice art that made me continue the game till the end. The music is not something to brag about but it's chill and that's what matters in the end. Afterburn managed to win me over and will try other games from them and will follow their future games to come (hope they will be as solid as this one).

If Y7 was the passing of the torch to the next generation then Y8 is the last spark of the old guard.
Feels kinda bad when Gaiden was made only after most of 8's development was done because it hurts seeing how Hanawa and Daidoji were handled.
Don't want to beat a dead horse but the story is kinda meh (the first part is pretty good and interesting but after the ending of chapter 9 iirc the story fluctuated too much in quality akin to a sinusoidal wave) but gotta appreciate the whole messianic theme they did with one of the villains and the MCs.
The beloved characters from Y7 are back in business (even though some were kinda shoehorned in there cough cough Zhao and Joongi Han cough cough) and the new characters are pretty good most of the time ("This hoodlum wanted money and he pointed a gun right at me!" Tomizawa, Cutiepie Chitose not Buster Holmes, Fangirl Suengee, Cold-blooded Yamai) but some of them like the villains or some minor characters are kinda shitty.
The gameplay received an overall improvement and it’s so enjoyable that I’ve grinded dungeons just to juggle enemies between the team members (don't even get me started how I creamed my pants when Dragon's Resurgence was introduced).
For the love of God just leave Kiryu alone so he can live his last days in peace and not bait us with another battle on the Millennium Tower in the future.
I wanted more Yamai but he was too good for this game and left too early (hope he'll become a playable character in Y9 somehow).
My first impression was a 6/10 but in retrospect I've enjoyed the game too much so yeah fuck it 7/10.

To be honest I wanted to give it a 6/10 but I am too much of a fanboy to not ignore some things that bothered me. I can't really complain so much about the gameplay because Insomniac really tried to improve everything from combat to traversal. The new traversal with the new wings it's flawless and can't say anything bad about it but the combat well it was too simplified (compared to the first game) in a way or that was what I felt during my playtime.
My real gripe with the game is the story. Kraven is pretty well written as the ruthless hunter he's supposed to be and there were some story cues taken from Kraven Last Hunt but he doesn't have as much screen time as I've wanted but when he appears most of the time he steals the show in particular the last fight with him. But even though Kraven is cool, the entire story is kinda too slow somehow at least for me. Don't know if it's considered a spoiler but the selling point of the game (the villain that has a fucking statue in the collector's edition) aka Venom only appears in the last 20% of the story iirc. And because the story is supposed to be an introduction of the symbiotes, the whole black suit arc is predictable especially if you've experienced the same arc in the movies/other games/tv shows/comics.
Maybe the real problem is that I've expected too much story and gameplay wise from this game and my expectations weren't met.
At least for the sequel there are some villains set up to appear like the Goblins, Carnage, Chameleon, maybe Knull so Miles can have his venom/electricity sword power and some returning villains.
In the end, I am happy that Peter can have a fucking break and a nice relationship with MJ. Fuck you Zeb Wells in particular.

Later edit: Decided to lower the grade to reflect my original impression

The idea of a living and breathing metroidvania sounded so intriguing to me but unfortunately I can't like it a bit.
In the 1 hour or so of playing I didn't feel any joy and I am at that point in life where I can't push myself to play something just to see if it will get any better.
The atmosphere and the art style are pretty cool but the gameplay feels clunky and not very fluid.
I'll watch some videos about the ecosystem of the game and how it was created as a coping mechanism.
I know it's not my cup of tea but I can understand why others can enjoy it and maybe will recommend it to platformers/metroidvania fans.

It's the same game as the first one but with fewer levels.
Some of the later levels aren't even fun anymore.
Don't know why they decided to use 3D perspective in the puzzles but the way they did it is shtty.

A pretty cute puzzle game with an unique gimmick but unfortunately it suffers from the same thing as Portal 1 and that being that both games are tech demos in the end.
I hope that there will be a sequel in the future with a level editor, game design that can use the photo mechanic to its fullest potential and maybe better dialogue/story (just to keep the comparison something akin to Portal 2).
Cute cat is cute and must be protected.
The puzzles are unfortunately too easy if you are a puzzle game enjoyer (I think the only level that managed to make me think more than usual was the bonus watermelon one) and the mini new gimmicks the levels introduce disappear as fast as they appear (ex: the colour gates).

Me: Mom can I have Ace Attorney?
Mom: No, we have Ace Attorney at home.
Ace attorney at home:

Kinda shitty that I was spoiled who the mastermind is just because I've seen a statuette with him on a nerd online merch store.
The trials are pretty cool (especially the addition of minigames just because I didn't expect them) but don't know everything felt too easy even though I played on the hardest difficulty.
Pretty interested if the sequels will improve the trial and investigation sections maybe also the writing.
Kyoko and Hina are the best girls.
The OST felt kinda meh in the beginning but with each chapter it grew on me.
Maybe I am a big nerd but I've enjoyed Celeste's conversations with the gambling manga/anime references too much.

Somehow I was teleported back to my childhood for 3 hours and I would do it again.
No, Steve Irwin, you don't need to wrestle with this gator. He is too powerful even for you.
Strong "A Short Hike" vibes combined with Zelda Botw influence (and you can't even be mad about it).
Couldn't believe this is a debut game.
All I can say is that it was a wholesome and cozy experience that oozes game development passion (gameplay and storywise).

The game is pretty nice but unfortunately the gacha system drags it down in quality and enjoyment too much for me.
Kafka has big step on me mommy energy and maybe she will be the only thing I will remember after the whole experience.
Day of the Devs managed to convince me that I waste my time playing this instead of playing cool indies.
I don't think it's a good idea to lock the story bits (that are actually interesting) behind account level and grind.
Trash collecting is fun.

Spider-man Across the Spider-Verse managed to convince me to finally play this after living in my head rent free for years and what can I say except that all of those years of expectations were ruined and was left disappointed.
The gameplay is boring af and is only a simplified version of Shattered Dimensions in the end.
The beginning till the end of the first act and maybe the final boss battles are the only things I've found interesting.
The story is intriguing with how everything is insinuated in the beginning and then act 2 and 3 happen.

A new Riot Forge game a new genre I guess.
Gotta hate when you make mistakes and gotta rewind your life.
Expected an action platformer and received a metroidvania game and I don't even mind.
The traversal/parkour feels so good but then there is the combat that is repetitive/uninteresting unfortunately (another issue is that the enemy design is lackluster) at least for me.
I guess the only good combat bits are the boss fights especially the boss fights with the League champions (this doesn't include the mini-boss fights that are shitty).
Don't know how exactly but the OST managed to make me vibe with it.
I will not make any nitpicks about the story because taking into consideration the ending of the story I guess everything is canon now.

It has a strong start but falls in the last third at least for me.
I think I am too old to enjoy boomer shooters anymore.
Gotta love the moments when everything looks the same and you don't know where you are or the moments you don't know what to do in the maze areas.
Don't think it's necessary to talk about the final boss.

It's pretty obvious that this is a downgrade compared to Chapter One but can you really blame them when they had 1 year to make it during the Ukrainian war well I can't because I am not a douchebag and it's pretty praiseworthy what they managed to pull off.
Don't really like some of the story changes like The Awakened being the first big case of the detective couple and being directly tied with the ending of Chapter One but the overall story is still intact and the changes don't bother me that much. The only change that I really dislike is the removal of Moriarty and his destiny after the The Final Problem but this being like the continuation of the origin story I can understand the removal.
The greatest addition of the remake was the Cthulhu inspired visions and puzzles that forced you to think outside the box to solve the puzzles but there were to few across the whole playthrough (I think there were 3-4 such visions).
Some of the old puzzles were removed as far as I remember but the new formula of puzzles were a nice inclusion (I don't think it's fair to complain that some clues were not so obviously hidden but I think this is a sight/skill issue). I will not say anything about the "final boss puzzle".
All in all, I guess this is a pretty standard Sherlock Frogwares game that can be played by the fans but somehow I feel that the magic of the original was lost in the translation. Maybe we'll see a strong comeback after the war with a remake of Sherlock Holmes Versus Arsène Lupin or Versus Jack the Ripper in the future .
