this series shouldve been a clearer anthology. it already is but it doesnt do enough to make it clear that theres no consistant lore or story that matters.
they shouldve ditched the zelda brand name and stuck with 'the hyrule fantasy' for the franchise name. it couldve allowed for more creativity like majoras mask without needing to include zelda in the games every single time. i appreciate the first sequel for at least attempting this by calling it 'the adventure of link' primarily and going for a drastically different gameplay style. even if its not great and not what people wanted.
but they could still ditch the idea that zelda has to be the same blonde white girl archetype. its just a name and names are just sounds. zelda doesnt need to be a girl or even a person. it could be anything or anyone.
art is better when its allowed to breath and escape the shackles of lore after a piece has been finished. its important if its a continuous narrative of course. but zelda does not have that.
there is no zelda timeline. if anything its just a zelda multiverse. but in a meta way its simply contained within the billions of cartriges and discs across the world each containing its own unique exciting adventure waiting to be exploredπ€
