I know most folks regard Brawl as the worst Smash but I legit love it. Part of that is thanks to Subspace Emissary which kicks ass. Every other Smash game since then has had a lame campaign and I wish Nintendo would do something cool like this again. As a casual player, I thought this game itself played just fine.

modo historia e divertido, dito isso a hit box desse jogo é esquisita alem do jogo ser bem lento se comparado anterior.
curiosamente o anterior parece mais bonito???

As someone who grew up playing this game, it's barely passable as a good game.

I dont think I actually mind Brawls slightly different gamefeel as much as I just hated playing it on the Wii (and all the annoying things they had to do to controls to make that work). Subspace is, no surprise, a bop.

King Dedede & Meta Knight! yay more Kirby reps!!! x3

subspace emissary is the single greatest thing to come out of smash

Loved this game. One of my first games. The characterroaster is great and the griddy look, looked really good at that time. This grey artstyle is something different and something unique. The storymode is the best thing in this game by far. I had so much fun playing it and the cutscenes look gorgeous. Soundtrack is a vibe, it gives the player the feeling of wanting to fight. The slow paced gameplay didn't age well and the random tripping mechanic is really nothing good and killed this game competitively. Still such a fun game.

This was my first Smash game and I used to be obsessed. I never figured out if there was a real ending to the story mode. I was very confused

LANDMASTER. Put so many hours at a friends basement playing for hours on end. Classic.

The best Smash game imho, but it definitely feels like they spent WAY too much time on the Subspace story and left out a lot of other things that could've been great here (like how with Ultimate, they put ZERO effort into the Story mode and even LESS into the Classic mode, unlocking characters or anything that wasn't their BS spirit board).

Great ass game, subspace is a fun side mode but honestly i really have nostalgia for FFA's on the shitty wifi, the general aesthetic, and the Smash Dojo hype cycle.

More like super smash bros LAWL!!!

Mechanically a step backwards compared to Melee, for some reason Nintendo wanted to fight the competitive scene by making the game randomly punish you for your skill. Subspace was an amazing addition though, and until Smash Ultimate, this was the definitive version for the vast majority of Smash players.

A decent rumble arena brawler that despite not having as tight controls as its predecessors, it features a lengthy enough campaign mode for a more than welcoming crossover party which hasn't been equaled since as far as I'm concerned. Its many trophies also make for a decent chunk of challenges outside the main multiplayer mode, not to mention the arena builder and some easter eggs.

Possibly the best Super Smash Bros game in terms of the content it has to offer. there are so many modes and challenges and cool features offered in this game that somehow have not made their way into newer entries. the subspace story mode is one of the coolest things Nintendo has ever done. unfortunately though, the gameplay can feel a little bit clunky and slow at times.

Project M made this game leaps and bounds better for sure, but you cant deny its impact. Subspace Emissary was the greatest story mode in any of the Smash games

Smash Brawl’s Subspace Emissary is a mode that I’m torn on but still turned out pretty fun. The collection of all the characters mixed with reveals that despite knowing who all was in the game, still had me excited when some characters showed up.

The general idea of subspace is done somewhat well, if a bit too lengthy. Generally, you’re a character or small group of characters and you have to complete a platforming segment with those characters. You get a few lives, and you either make it to the end and finish or fight a boss. It’s fine but for someone who isn’t entirely obsessed with fighting games it doesn’t appeal to me as much as something like a potential Mario Kart with a story mode might. It isn’t helped by Smash Brawl’s generally slow speed, making some areas feel too slow to control.

The fact that you switch characters constantly is super exciting because generally when I play Smash Bros, I stick to one or a few characters and call it a day. Here, you’re forced to use different characters and you have to be creative when you can choose who you take, which I enjoyed a lot. I felt some characters didn’t get the full utilization, however, since they were introduced too late for me to ever get to try them out.

The story is something that was cool to see, but it was a part of that “we can be dark too!” vibe that I felt Nintendo did in the Wii era. It reminded me of Super Paper Mario in that way. Not bad, just feels a bit off.

Overall, despite some issues, Subspace Emissary was still an incredibly fun mode with some pretty well done CG for the time. It’s fun and I think I would suggest it to those who enjoy Smash Bros. I don’t know how well the difficulty scales, but try it out and see how you like it!

Se que no es el mejor Smash pero le tengo mucha estima por tener un modo historia muy entretenido y que se siente hecho con alma :'D

Subspace emissary alone makes this game worth playing

Even though LittleBigPlanet was my definite childhood game, this game has always been a close second.

I never played Melee, so I'll never understand why people hated Brawl as a result. This was my first Super Smash Bros. game and I LOVED IT. Not only was Brawl my introduction to fighting games, but it was my introduction to the vast gaming franchises it included. (To be honest, I still haven't delved into all of them, but I'm getting there?)

I remember the days when I played this by myself against 3 CPUs without a care in the world, but when I was able to play with others, oh my goodness; the memories of playing this game and its PERFECT story mode, The Subspace Emissary, with my brother, family members during the holidays, and friends.
And for that, I'll always love this game even if it's not that well-regarded in the community.

Hard to review game. It was my childhood, but looking back it isn't that good on the gameplay front. It does has a lot of content though, a ton-ton.

Tripping, floaty combat, awful online, stupid balancing, and some more killed this game. Altrough some characters like Sonic and Snake were hype worthy at the time.

Subspace is great. No Smash game comes close to a story mode like it. Maybe Melee, but that's it.

It's a fine game otherwise.

While controversial, SSBB is a damn respectable entry into the Super Smash Bros. franchise, adding a myriad of features for competitive and casual players alike. The Subspace Emissary is the main draw of this game; an extremely well-made campaign with numerous Nintendo characters interacting in its charming cutscenes. The other side modes (classic, all-star, boss battles, stadium) all add depth and replayability to the game as well. SSBB truly feels like a celebration of all things Nintendo (and video games in general) up to that point, with the numerous trophies, stickers, and the collection of game demos that can be unlocked. SSBB is definitely flawed in some places; the balancing of the game is objectively pretty bad, and the level design of the Subspace Emissary can be overly linear and frustrating at times (on top of the Great Maze being one of the worst video game experiences I've ever had). Smaller issues like random tripping and the slower pace of the game can definitely turn some people off, but SSBB is a wonderfully made and worthwhile experience.

the only thing I have against this game is that it is slow and have tripping, the rest is all good.

i am by no means a fighting game connoisseur, but brawl was my first smash game and thus holds a special place in my heart. the elephant in the room is obviously that the game wasn't patched, so for competitive players, it's a downright mess. but for mere casuals like me, it still holds up as a fun party game and overall solid entry in the series despite how messy wii controls can be.

the main reason it scores as high as it does is subspace emissary. smash has never had anything else like subspace across its 5 installations and i'm pretty sure it never will again, especially if ultimate is the last entry in the franchise. the attempt to make a story line for all of these characters, including third parties like snake, paid off. the scrawling levels are crazy and fun, the boss fights are addictive, and the cutscenes are entertaining. play this game for subspace emissary, and then play it again. what the fuck.

I don't care what the competitive players say; this is one of the best Smash games Nintendo has ever made. I know they're saying that the base game isn't good for competitive play, but for casual play, it has to be one of the best games to use it. I guess they've made Project M in that case, and while I never played it, I guess you can say that they can finally play the game how they wished the game would play like, and I';m happy for them.

You can't forget Subspace. I find this to be a hundred times better than what World of Light had to offer. Most of the story was characters not speaking, and the fact that this one has a story mode in the first place makes it fantastic on it's own.

"But it has Subspace!"

Subspace isn't that good, guys.

"Hurry Mama, give me the booze."

This is my favorite Smash game, and arguably my favorite video game, as well as my first video game growing up as a kid. I was blown away and mesmerized by its gameplay, graphics, music and the amount of content the game features. Sure, competitively speaking, it isn't the best, but at the same time, I couldn't care less about it. Its slow-paced gameplay combined with its items are the best and a lot more enjoyable compared to any other Smash game that featured items and different kinds of mechanics. Matter of a fact, this is the ONLY Smash game where I enjoy playing items with on.

Everything about the Subspace Emissary (besides the Great Maze, what the heck Sakurai), was fantastic. I think every single character in the game had their fair share of spotlight and introduction brought into the story.

So yeah, overall, it's a 4.5/5 for me with this game, I'd recommend it to those that wish to play Smash Bros. casually, it's the best.

this is like optimal smash roster size for me, everything feels nice as a fun party game and it has a single player co op campaign which actually lets you see the characters in this crossover interact.

I know it has a lot of annoying mechanics to some but I perfer smash as a party game that has a competitive scene instead of them half assing making a party game for competitive people.

Final Destination Theme.

One of the greatest of all time.
