Where to start...... Alan Wake 2 has to be one of my all-time favorite games.
What Remedy did with AW2 is a phenomenal achievement not just in video gaming but in writing, storytelling and a massive advancement within the medium. I have waited 13 years for AW2 and it did not disappoint me at any point within the game. The way Saga and Alan's story weave between each other and how it all comes together at the end is something I haven't seen done this well in a game, the closet I could somewhat compare this story would be to Bioshock Infinite.

The sound design throughout AW2 is top notice, The graphics in AW2 go above and beyond with the scenery and setting of Bright falls it has never looked more beautiful. The acting whether that be in game engine or the live action moments within the game are very well done and the way Remedy blend both live and game together is like no other, they truly have crafted a fantastic style of storytelling that I can't wait to see what they do next after this advancement.

The Northlight engine works flawlessly with face capture, graphics or even when Alan is in the dark place and change the scenes with the light (which is a fantastic idea that they pull of perfectly)

As you can tell from my review I love this game. Alan Wake 2 has made its way into my top 10 games of all time.

This game proves Remedy is a masterclass in gaming and is one of the greatest of all time. I will buy and play anything they make. I could not recommend this game more.

Ori is the 3rd game I played and completed on the SD and I LOVED every single moment of this game.
Let's start with the beautiful unique art style, on an OLED screen this thing pops like nothing I have seen before, STUNNING.

The score is so beautiful I am a sucker for a orchestral score and it hits.

The gameplay is a addictive and rewarding, I have never really been a hardcore Metroidveniana fan but this has made me one I need to play more of them.

There are curtain parts in this game where you are in a "cinematic" action scene that makes you traverse in one scene they are stunning to play and watch.

The story brought me to tears within the first 10 minutes. The themes of this story are beautiful and very much themes around what it is currently happening with the world.

I love this game and am really excited to play all there future games.

Akane is the 2nd game I have played on my steam deck and I feel like this was just made for it. The arcade style combat is just a treat.

Hardly any story for this game but that is fine as this is not needed.

The art style is right up my alley. I'm here for the cyberpunk art style, The music in Akane is a great lofi synth score.
I think it is safe to say the artistic style of this game is for me.

The gameplay is fantastic and feels great.
Very rewarding and feels like a dumbed down version of Hades, nothing wrong with that.

This game is great and for $7.50 it's an easy purchase everyone should play it.

Also the 65hrs isn't the real time I put it in sleep mode and steam still counted the hours. I am unsure how many real hours I've played

2016

Abzu was the first game I have played on my steamdeck OLED. The game itself is a fun chill time. I found myself really enjoying the visual design of the underwater world and creatures within the world. The score i found to be really good and quite enjoyable to listen to, this score will be going on my Spotify gaming playlist. The story was very minimal but I understood what it was going for in the restoration of mother nature. Overall it was a fun quick game and well worth playing on the DECK.

I tell you what, I have never been so happy to finish a game like I am with Diablo 4. What started out like a lot of fun at the beginning turned into the most boring experience I think I have had in my last 10 years of gaming. I remember all the fun memories I had playing D3 with friends running through the campaign for each class leveling them up the hype of getting a legendary item, to finding my first loot goblin, thinking of all the fun I had back then to then playing this steaming, boring slog of a game. The story is quite boring, the combat is good but quickly gets old, the graphics are fantastic can't fault them. IMO the biggest mistake this game makes is making you WALK for over 20 hours of the game to then get a horse right near the end. I was doing all my side quest griding out my Nerco and push through to only find out how long it takes to get faster movement and it kind of burnt me out.

I wish they would of given people the horses earlier that might have saved a bit of the game, But at the end I am quite disappointed in this game, Once I reached the end and rolled credits I didn't even realize I was at the end, I had killed the final boss 30 minutes before and did not even notice that's how of an impact the games story had done for me.

If I hadn't spent $110 AUD on this game, I would of DNF'd this at 15-20 hours I would not recommend this to anyone unless it's super cheap (which ain't going to happen) or you get a party of mates and just run through it.

I wish I hadn't bought this game at full price and waited for a sale. I am quite sad with release and I will defenantly not be buying any expansions to this game.

Fortnite is a staple in my house and I have never enjoyed a game with my wife more than this. People will say fortnite is for children etc. but it has brought nothing but everlasting memories of my wife and I playing together. This game is really like no other

Deep rock really reminds me of Helldiver's it has the same gameplay mechanics with the edition of being a FPS. A friend and I have played a little under 10hrs of it and we quite enjoy the game so far. Picking it up on sale is also an added bonus and brings in more value. If you are looking for a good pve co-op game this is a good one to get

I will tell you I now understand why RE4 gets so much hype around it. This game was amazing from start I thoroughly enjoyed my time with it. I have now played RE2,3,4 & 5 and I can safely say RE4 is the best so far in the series and from my understanding that has not changed as further titles are released.

The remake is a phenomenal achievement. if it wasn't for it, I would never play this game and I am glad I did. In just over 10 hours it so far is the longest in the series. The setting starts off very horror based but then turns into something so over the top and jaw dropping at the same time that I found myself never getting bored of the game or wondering when it was going to rather, I was wondering where it was going next.

The graphics are top tier with stunning set pieces, Audio design is on par. Enemy variety is good, always throwing something new at you so you are never bored.

The story is also quite good with the plot making sense and engaging throughout the play through.

From what I understand Ashley in the original used to be quite annoying, but I think they made some tweaks to her as she was fine through the game.

This game is definitely one of my highlights of the year easy 5/5 for me.

Miles Morales is a really good middle game; this is not knocking it in anyway, but you can tell this is not meant to be a full release in the series as in it is not numbered if it was it would be Spider-man 1.5.

Miles feels just as good as SP1 in terms of graphics, audio and gameplay the game is incredible in that sense. Where I think the game lacks is once you finish the main story and have done the "proper" side quest there is no real incentive to do any of the smaller thing in the world as where SP1 I 100% it and loved every moment of it where I do not feel like I need to in Miles. In saying that I do feel like that is a positive though because the does not overstay it's welcome and is a short and sweet experience that I really enjoyed and got to explore more of Miles and bond with him and invest in his story. IF anything, Miles only hypes me even further for Spider-man 2 weather I play that on PS5 or wait for the eventual PC release that I am yet decided on.

If anyone reckons, I should play it now let me know.

I played Alan Wake when it originally came out on the Xbox 360 13 years ago and again when I bought a PC. It is safe to say that I love this game and what Remedy do with their games, everything about Alan Wake is right up my alley from the story, tone, characters, music etc., I love it all. I bought the remaster as preparation for Alan Wake 2 and finished this run through the day of AW2 release and literally finished the main story just as reviews came out which I then watched a handful of reviews and made me even more excited for this universe. The main story of AW is a fun, wild, interesting story with great cast of characters, the plot moves forward and a great pace with each chapter ending like an episode of twin peaks then once you continue on you get the "Previously on" as if you are tuning back into an episode of your favorite t.v series. The cliffhanger at the end has been killing me for 13 years to know what happens next and FINALLY that burning question is being answered now.

Graphics are as good as they can get for a game that was released 13 years ago, not bad looking but not groundbreaking.

The performance of this remaster is the thing that let's this review down the most. Everything runs smooth I only had visual glitch throughout my whole 16hr run of the game every time light was used my game would glitch out which being AW light is use all the time. I would be able to fix this by hitting esc then back into the game, though this did get quite frustrating after the first hour especially when I would be in the middle of combat and die to this issue. I am not sure what the fix for this is, I am assuming it might have to do with brightness or HDR. I honestly didn't care enough to look into it.

It was fun to play the DLC that was released for the game as I had never played them before and was a welcome inclusion for the game.

After finishing AW I am even more excited to play AW2 and Control 2 when that eventually comes out.

As I said before I am loving what Remedy is doing with this connecting universe and I am here for it all.

Playing RE3 straight after RE2 is the best thing you can do, as this game compliments RE2 so well as the shorter slightly more action focused sequal. I really enjoyed my time playing RE3. The graphics, audio design was all on par with RE2. I much prefer Nemesis to Mr T. The story is not as good as RE2 but does the job well. As I said in my RE2 review for a bundle of $12 for both of these games they are a steal and are well worth the money and time. I now have a new found appreciation for the Resident evil series, now to play the rest of the series.

2018

I bought Gris really cheap on steam, it looked really fun sadly I did enjoy some of the game, but it didn't really hold my interest enough to finish it. After looking it up I think I had roughly 1 hour left to finish but I honestly couldn't be bothered with it. The graphics are beautiful, the score is lovely, but the gameplay and story aren't really hitting for me. I feel like I could have been playing something else instead of this.

The RE series is an odd one for me, I have played them out of order originally played RE5 when it came out skipped 6 tried 7 (I really struggle with first person horror) and haven't attempted RE8. So, I was interested in the remakes of RE 2 & 3 and got them on a good deal. I had such a "fun" time playing RE2, I say fun, but I was scared for quite a bit of it at the being. but once the scare factor wore off it is an amazing looking 3rd person survival horror. The story is pretty average and services the game well enough to keep it moving forward.
Graphics in this game are gorgeous to look at, the RE engine does wonders and really makes the game feel so lived in and realistic with character models and the environments.
Gameplay is pretty good, and I think they did a really good job modernizing the feel of the game.
For and steam sale of $12 including RE3 this is a no brainer. Well worth the time and money I would recommend this to anyone who loves horror and hasn't played a Resident evil game before.

I enjoyed my time with Bastion, You can see the inspiration Hades took from it and you can see how far super giant has come.

The story is nothing special but the narrator is voiced very well acted.
Combat is good and has the depth if you want to make good builds with the weapons

The art style is really well done and I love the floor underneath coming forward thing. that was a really cool design choice

The music is amazing as always from Super Giant the composer knocks it out of the park again, very well done.

Afterparty is another good game from Night School Studios, While I liked the themes, art style, music, and story of the game I wasn't as interested with Afterparty as I was with Oxenfree. I think the overall story of Oxenfree was just better and the characters and gameplay were also more interesting. The story of Milo and Lola is good as two socially awkward friends graduate from university to find out they actually died 10 minutes before and now have to get approval from Satan's friends to compete in a drinking game to win being unalived is good and keeps the game moving forward and never backward. The mystery throughout the story of what other characters are up to is really neat and has a satisfying payoff depending on which route you decide to take is good.

The gameplay is like Oxenfree walking around a 2D-style world with conversations to fill in the time, The game mechanic in this game unlike Oxenfree (using a radio to find mysteries and speak with ghost) is going to a bar and drinking different cocktails from hell which will give you different conversation options which can make a few interesting decisions, But at the end I find it not as enjoyable as the radio from Oxenfree.

The art style is beautiful with a gorgeous neon rave club scene for hell is awesome and the score really doubles down on that and helps elevate that decision and it pays off very well.

Even though I did not enjoy Afterparty as much as Oxenfree I still had a good time with it and would recommend it to anyone looking for a quick cheap game. I believe I got this on a Steam sale for under $5AUD
well worth it
