surprisingly decent hack'n slash, the combat is good enough to allow some extensive and creative combos plus it plays really well and good visuals considering this was released near the end of the PS2's lifespan.

the camera could have been a lot better and some of the enemy design is a bit clumbersome as well but nothing too harsh compared to other action games at the time.

overall it's good, if you like hack'n slash games this one is an good recommendation.

underrated DK platfomer, the gameplay here is really solid and unique since this is the only plaformer I know where you can use an set of bongos for control and feel good at the same time, chaining wall jumps, swings, grabs and ground pounds to create combo chains never gets old and mastering each level is satisfying.

the presentation is also pretty good, this game has the good old Nintendo polish in terms of UI and audio design everything just looks and sounds good, the music is also pretty catchy.

level-design is genuinely great, every level is fun to play and each own with their unique gimmicks to spice them up.

boss battles are very fun although they start to get repetitive later on.

overall Jungle Beat is great, it is weirder than the Country games since this was made by Nintendo themselves after Rareware's buyout but it's still an good time and every Donkey Kong fan should try it.

this tie-in game had no right to go this hard, smooth platforming, great level-designs and the Toy Box mode is just an incredible value for the game especially on the Xbox 360/PS3 versions.

Skyward Sword HD makes this game a lot better than the Wii counterpart, more ways to play, free camera, reducing the amount of text and handholding, and skip cutscenes for multiple playthroughs.

speaking about the game it's most definitely overhated, the motion controls are immersive and a lot better than most Wii games at the time, combat shines through with each enemy requiring an different strategy and for allowing different combinations of attacks, dungeons are up there with Twlight Princess and Majora's Mask for me everything feels well designed with some really great boss fights.

it's presentation is fantastic, really good art-style and absolutely phenomenal soundtrack, can't really describe on how much I love the music in this game.

the narrative is really solid, some great writing in there and by far the best apperances for Link/Zelda in the series not to mention the fantastic ending.

the game still has it's flaws yeah, the Sky doens't offer nothing really spectacular in terms of exploration, Wind Waker's Great Sea is a lot better in comparison, some of the pacing is all over the place sometimes and it's second half could use some more direction.

overall Skyward Sword is an must-play, if you are looking to play this game definitely grab this Remaster, the quality of life additions eliminates some of the obnoxious stuff the original version had and makes this game a lot better to enjoy/play.

solid Mega Man game, tight controls and solid new mechanics such as the Double-Gear System, great art-style, good level-design and interesting boss fights.

the soundtrack is a bit forgettable compared to other games in the series but it's still good for the most part.

overall an solid game, it revived the series back with a high level of polish and neat ideas, I hope Capcom can deliver the same level of quality found in 11 with future games especially in other Mega Man series such as X.

an great improvement over it's predecessor in terms of combat and pacing not to mention optional QTEs, free camera and more faster animations for climbing and less focus on puzzles which all makes this one more enjoyable to play and revisit in comparison to LOS1 to me.

the story and stealth mechanics are painfully mediocre indeed but if you are looking for more Lords of Shadow combat and enjoys action games this one is an good recommendation, it had room to be a lot better though.

solid action platformer, great gameplay (moving and shooting feels great), really good boss-fights and interesting story/characters.

the Metroidvania elements are not that good though, backtracking leads only to resources and most of the actual upgrades you can get with them feels subpar not to mention the linearity, I would say it's only good for 100% completion mark as the game never feels rewarding in terms of exploration in an regular playthrough.

the puzzle-solving can get repetitive as well, the game has it's interesting ideas with them but most of the time I wanted to get back to the platforming sections and combat scenarios.

overall an great game, the story while a bit convoluted at the start is memorable and has it's own set of unique themes and the characters are rich, great boss-battles and gameplay, could be more fleshed-out as an Metroidvania though as it is considered to be part of the genre.

an refined revision of the first GOW that manages to surprassed it in every way possible.

the gameplay is immensly improved, combat is more meatier and satisfying, traversal and platforming is much better and upgrading stuff is no longer an shore like in the prequel.

the scale is impressive considering the system it was developed, it's visuals are still pretty good even today and the presentation and world-designs are downright phenomenal.

the narrative is pretty good too though I miss the style of storytelling featured in the first game, it is still one of my favorite stories in the series though.

the pacing and level-design is also pretty amazing, it is an lesson on how you can pace your game well overall.

perhaps the only gripe I have with the game is some of the magic spells featured in the game, having another Medusa head power felt uninspiring especially considering the removed spells that was cut from the game before release, some of the weapons are also not that exciting to play such as the Spear Of Destiny or even the Blade of Olympus.

overall GOWII is still the best entry in the series, it does so many things so well that is hard to surprass it overall for me.

one of the good tie-in games based on movies, the combat is brutal and satisfying with lots of blood/gore effectively making you feel like Wolverine, good variety between abilities and interesting progression.

some of the mechanics are a bit iffy like dodging attacks and lack of general polished enemy designs but I could live with that.

the visuals are okay it gets the job done but even by 2009 standards it was certainly kinda shoody-looking compared to other games at the time like Uncharted 2.

overall it's an great game based on a movie which is very rare especially around that time, definitely recommend if you like Wolverine or great hack 'n slash titles.

2007

one of the forgotten console exclusives games back on the PS3/360, this game gets a lot of shit because of it's ugliness and for being apparently generic but I really loved it back then and I was very surprised to see that this is available to play with the Backwards Compability integration in Xbox consoles.

the game plays very well, combat is your standard 7th gen hack and slashing game with quick attacks, heavy attacks and grabs but Conan introduces 4 different combat styles that have their own cast of different skills and gameplay, the skill system is very good it really rewards using different abilities/combat-styles and unlocking new skills feels very addictive, sword attacks feel heavy/meaty and the animations effectively make you feel like Conan not to mention the loads of blood flying over the place and heads being ripped out.

the rest of the game is meh really, the story is just there and the game doens't really have some form of connection in the narrative nor it's characters, the voice-acting is kinda bad while the cutscenes look quite good in terms of facial animations.

overall it's an really fun game, it really nails it's combat with lots of different combat styles and skills to use, definitely an game that really makes you want to play again after finishing it just to have fun with the combat-system they created.

it's amazing how co-op horde shooters peaked with this game and never again even after 13 years, straightforward gameplay, extensive number of levels and infinite replayability thanks to the dynamic Director AI and of course Mods.

must-play to anyone who likes zombie themed games and especially co-op shooters.

My favorite fighting game and the last good Capcom fighter (SF6 seems to be an return to form hopefully), great combat mechanics that even people who suck at fighting games can enjoy, fantastic roster and presentation, this game's art-style and music is unmatched.

It can be a bit unbalanced with certain characters like Vergil or Wesker and mechanics that feel broken such as the X-Factor but overall this game is simply peak at the genre.

Dread has the single most perfect controls for an 2D platformer combined with strong boss fights, addicting exploration and incredible animation for both cutscenes and gameplay.

the EMMI sections may fall short soon in the game and the music combined with the overall atmosphere is nowhere as memorable as with it's predecessors but it's an must-play regardless if you like the genre or not.

by far my favorite game in the series, the setting and atmosphere is fantastic, the writing and overall storyline may be the best in Rockstar's portfolio up next to RDR2.

the shooting is punchy and satisfying although the cover-system sucks, guns sound great and and the ragdoll physics is unmatched even today, the way enemies react to gunshots is incredible and the self-nature of the ragdolls (grabbing into wounds and stuff, trying to grab an ledge to survive an fall or to stay up when falling) is godlike to this day.

the visuals are surprisingly great for today's standards though the art direction is often lame with the horrible brown color palette.

perhaps the biggest gripe I have with the game is with it's open-world design, after San Andreas most players were probably expecting this game to feature tons of stuff to do with the overall content SA originally had but it is not the case, there is nothing to do in the city expect from some side jobs you can do for certain characters, using the Internet Cafe and visiting Strip Clubs, the money you gain through the storyline is barely useful since there is not much customization available in the game, there is clothing stores but most of the outfits look horrible and only the Suit and Tie which can be bought on the Perseus shop that are decently looking, car and weapon customization is nowhere to be seen either.

overall GTA IV is Rockstar Games at it's peak, it's open world design may suck even when the game first released but the final game is absolutely amazing and totally worth checking out.

it's an major improvement on the gunplay side, an larger variety of weapons compared to previous entries, great animations and punchy shooting not to mention the great voice-acting but everything else falls in the Ubisoft trope, pointless level-gated stuff, bizarre loot and perk system and undertilized potential for it's story.

if 6 had the style of progression and gameplay remiscent of FC3/4 such as more complex skill trees or hunting it could have been an potentially great entry, everything here screams these games and could have worked well.
