I am so glad that I got to play this blind, a little while before it blew up on Youtube and people started shitposting about "muh liminal spaces" or "muh LGBT backstory".
Too bad that I killed the dog.

I normally get a huge kick out of multiplayer Source Engine games, but this is easily the most boring of them all.

When thinking about the overall structure of this game, it's considerably weaker than HOTD2 or HOTD4.
But wielding the arcade machine's shotgun and pumping it to reload is such an incredibly satisfying feeling that I will not give the game less than 4 stars, fuck you.

Playing Vectorman might have permanently tainted my view on the Mega Man series, because even though that game is far from perfect, its controls are so insanely good that even this supposed masterpiece sits wrong with me. I'm sorry.

A rock-solid 3D platformer that would have gotten another half-star out of me if there wasn't any fog.
Just... please don't ask for a remake of this, let alone for a revival of the series at all. These games were designed for an ancient culture, thus an attempt at reimagining them for the modern day would be nothing short of disastrous.

Somehow the presentation of this and Mega Collection just fucking hit the spot, with Origins paling in comparison to them.
However, I must remove half a star for Sonic CD being region-locked. I didn't get to hear that glorious Japanese soundtrack until the game's re-release in 2011.

Better Sonic fangames have released after this, and it shows its amateur Unity Engine age, but it's still an entertaining shitpost of a game.

This is one of only a few games where I will usually idle to let the opening play out. The music, and the presentation of this collection in general, is just that good.
But featuring the standalone versions of Sonic 3 and Sonic & Knuckles, with the combined game being an unlockable, was an idiotic move in hindsight.

I respect the purpose of showcasing the Source Engine's features, but when viewed as a video game, this is so much more boring than Half-Life 1 and nothing will ever change my stance.

Kind of cool, but too bad that puzzle games aren't my cup of tea. My attempted playthroughs on Sonic Mega Collection were enough for me.

When I really think about it, this might be a more well-structured game than Banjo-Tooie.
But I prefer the formula of Tooie, so I can't give this a higher score, okay?

I still can't believe that I paid $40 for this lackluster piece of shit on the very day that it came out, and that some friends of mine did the same thing. In hindsight, I'm not surprised that it died as soon as its Super Smash Con tournament ended.

I have to thank this game for introducing me to Pikmin, which has since become my favorite Nintendo IP.
Zelda Battle Quest is also cool as shit, with it being a successor to Swordsplay Showdown and all.

This has an awful lot in common with Sonic Forces, but it has some decent moments instead of being an absolute embarrassment.

As a kid, I aimlessly explored this game's hub worlds rather than actually trying to progress through the story. I think that's the best way to describe its quality.
