I certainly had a fun solid time with it. With a killer soundtrack and DMCesque combat with an easy to pick up hard to master rhythm to the whole thing, it feels like a PS2 game (complimentary) without falling into being a PS2 game (derogatory). I was definitely charmed by the cast by the end. Definitely worth checking out.

This game is a fantastic update to a classic strategy game. Being able to make new maps is such a great choice. I think not doing a lot to the main formula really helped.
The AI can be a pain in the ass sometimes, being borderline unrelenting. And my other complaint is the voice acting. Arin Hanson is an acceptable VA, but he did absolutely nothing for Max. Like if you're gonna provide voices to these iconic characters for the first time, it really needs to be larger than life.
But if you like strategy games this is a good way to go.

It's okay. Not great. The plot isn't great, the characters are forgettable (fuck Amanozako, legit the proof that Atlus makes annoying sidekicks on purpose), but the combat is okay and everything else feels what you've come to expect from SMT.
That being said, I don't think I'll be playing Atlus games for a long while, they're all starting to feel the same. Persona 5, Soul Hackers 2, SMTV, TMS#FE, and likely Metaphor Re:Fantazio. They all have the same game feel. And there's only so many times I can be tricked before I start to sense a pattern.

I don't know what's going on with Nintendo, where every franchise they bring to the Switch ends up not only being a legit great game, but debatably the best in the entire series. Pikmin 4 makes 1 & 2 look like they're betas for this game. They remade Pikmin 1 as a bonus mode, for fuck's sake. This is easily top notch, definite recommend for newcomers to a legit solid console RTS game.

This is a good game. It feels like my decisions legitimately have weight, considering that there are a lot of different options to pick, rather than just all good or all bad.
I feel like the voice acting and facial animations is what holds it back from being better. There's a lot of time where the lines are solid, but the voice actor sounds like they should be excited or happy, but they sound annoyed and the character looks annoyed. Like what emotion are you trying to convey here?
Outside of that it's definitely a really great choices matter kinda game. It goes for like ten, maybe eleven dollars now so I say it's worth it.
