Like classic Mario Party, the OG Smash Bros. is still a fun party game. Are there better options? Certainly. But always worth a match or ten.

The Rockstar that made this game is sadly long dead.

The definitive way to play the original Metroid.

It's a step down from 2. You can really feel that this was meant to be a spin-off. At least it's only about five hours long.

It's as bad as everyone says. You will come to accept the square button as an ally.

Gameplay is vastly improved from the first. Duel wielding is a gift from god. The only downside is the fact that Legendary is the most untested difficulty curve I've ever experienced in a game. Other than that, it's fantastic. The most quotable game ever made.

If you say that you beat the Yellow Devil legit, you're lying.

I love this jank piece of shit game. It's buggy, it's ugly, it's a money sink, and it's one of the most wildly addictive games I've ever played. My chimp brain gets such a dopamine rush watching the big number go up. Customization is awesome and there are hundreds of heists ranging in quality to choose from. I've logged days of my life in this game on two separate platforms and I'd do it again. The lifeline memories I've made playing this with friends is irreplaceable.

Rough around the edges, but still a solid game.

I will never not be impressed that a game this good looking came out on the NES.

Controversially, this one may be my least favorite out of the first three games. That by no means is to say it's a bad game. It's incredible despite some camera issues with the initial release. Only major gripe is that I think the Cobra unit isn't great with the exception of a few standout members. Still leagues above Deadcells lame asses, but nowhere near as great as Foxhound.

The combat is even better than 7's but sadly I feel that the narrative took a massive step down. I like Kiryu's half for the most part, but Ichi's feels incomplete and inconsistent. Several plot points and characters feel inconclusive. Also charging me 20 bucks for NG+ is asinine and I almost considered docking a star on that alone. Cut that shit out, Sega.

I went from a Suda fan to a Suda admirer after playing this game. The gameplay isn't anything to write home about and normally I'd dock more stars because of that, but the writing here elevates the game to four stars. I can't think of many games, or hell, any pieces of art that is this humanly self reflective. It doesn't come off as masturbatory in the slightest for me. Suda is simply reflecting on his career. Celebrating his highs and lamenting his failures. If there's any takeaway from TSA, it's get out there and do what you want to. Celebrate your success' and learn from your failures. You've got one life. Aim true and fire away.

Not gonna sugarcoat it, I don't like this game much at all. Capcom are masters of their craft, but they often struggle to find their footing with the first games in some of their series. Think Mega Man, Street Fighter, etc. This game has it's place in history, I'll grant it that, but play REmake to fully appreciate what this game wanted to go for. I rarely believe that a remake should replace its original, but Resident Evil is one of those cases.
