The weakest Bayonetta in the series. The game feels like they made half of it, played DMC 5, and then tried really hard to force in a similar "passing the torch" story without the same setup DMC had. Viola feels like a joke character for the entire game, and the ending fell very flat for me.
But if you just want to play Bayonetta, it's still Bayonetta. Probably the best it's ever played. I hate that I don't like this game.

This game is weird. The story feels at odds with the gameplay, and kind of lessens the impact of the point of it all.
That being said the gameplay is fucking fantastic. Gunplay and combat feels great, and while I'm not the biggest fan of scrounging for materials to craft stuff I think it's fine here. Also please continue to use the rope mechanics in everything ever, it rules.

Probably one of the best games I've ever played. Survival Horror elements are excellent, story is confusing but fascinating, and every cutscene and dialogue is an emotional gut punch. Truly a marvel of modern gaming, to the point where I regret voting Elden Ring as 2022 game of the year. Signalis deserved it.
