It surpassed Wario Land. Worth all those years of waiting

I love the fusion of this game between tempest and galaga. It's basically like the perfect combination. It's pretty fun to play and the premise is interesting. For a title back in 1983 this really stands out among other arcade titles at the time. The music it used also has such a fun twist to it. Konami at their best back then. But MAN it is quite hard

Like I stated in my Seasons review, these two games together craft one of the most unique Zelda experiences out there. Especially with the way you link together the secrets.

While I think that Ages has better designed dungeons, puzzles and has a bit more of a story. The game felt a little more convoluted than Seasons. Also the Harp of Ages is a bit less interesting than the Staff of Seasons. But it was still an absolute blast to play despite getting more lost in this game compared to Seasons. Also I never died once while I died like 42 times on Seasons so that probably says a ton on the difficulty between each lol. Labrynna and Veran were fine additions and I enjoyed them. And I love Nayru but prefer Din. I felt like the main city area was better utulized here than in Seasons. I linked my games and beat the true final bosses and got the true ending.

Basically what I'm saying is that while both games have their drawbacks they both still excel in other things strongly. When linked it becomes a 2 part unforgettable adventure. So I think both are masterpieces in their own rights. Look at my seasons review if you're curious.

I already thought Link's Awakening was a masterpiece but having finally beaten this and Ages I can safely say they far surpass it. How they managed to cram such a deep interconnected set of games together is amazing. Defintely one of the most unique Zelda games I've ever played.

The season mechanic was used well and it led to some interesting exploration and puzzle solving. Holodrum and Onox were also very neat and I personnally prefer them over Ages's Veran and Labrynna. Also I loved the magnet and magic boomerang. Din is also the better oracle in my opinion. Also the challenge was well paced and the dungeons were top notch. Highly recommend playing this.

Gameplay is very simple but it can be a quick fun time. The music is nice, it has a variety of characters, and bonus levels can be fun too. Nothing mind blowing of course but for a game boy game I think it's pretty good.

Probably one of my favorite beat-em ups I've ever played. The concept, characters and enemies are some of the most unique I've seen. It's all baseball related. And when its not it has sentient everyday objects fighting you with very cartoony animations and expressive gameplay. The combat is fun between the 4 characters and the enemy designs are to die for. The music is catchy as well. It was a blast and It's very reminiscent of stuff like TMNT and Final Fight. I want more out of left field (heh) and unique games like this today. Extremely charming beat-em up.

Yet another amazing Kirby game. Kirby never misses. But as a person that adores sweets this made me crave some way too much it's a pain lol. Really fun time with a delicious aesthetic. Movement felt a bit off though

This is a torture device Capcom made to bore me to death. Such an underwhelming sequel to a game I loved dearly. Hope the third game can really deliver. Everything was so painfully dull and braindead. Some good things are sprinkled here and there but not enough to stop it from being a boring game. Lucia is cool though I love her

For years I have seen many say that this is one of the best genesis games ever made. Some say one of the best platformers in general. And yeah now after finally beating it, I get it. It has so much of that Konami charm you would find in all of their early retro titles. The music is a banger that kept me motivated. Your nemesis was such an interesting character and when you finally went up against him in the final level it was really nuts. Finally boss also had me nervous especially after I had thought I beat the game. The level design is well done and fun to experience the stages. The sword and rocket charge mechanic was fun to use and added a great layer of action and momentum compared to your run of the mill platformer. The concept of this main character I also just love. I can see why Konami had Sparkster as a mascot for a while. Super fun and engaging game from level to level without stop. Felt like an arcade game that was made just for the genesis. A schmup level in space, a boss where you fight in a mech, a boss while riding on a minecart. Game had lots of surprises and creativity. Wonder if the sequel is just as good... Highly recommend

1990

The flamethrower is really broken...

Feels like a budget Metal Slug that lacks a bunch of the mechanics. Still has nice sprite work and animation. And the bosses are cool.

Wayforward kino. For a licensed game there's plenty of detail on levels and animation. You can flip your gravity up or down which allows for some great levels. Great difficulty buildup. But too many leaps of faith and final boss was offensively easy. 9.5/10 (I wish this site did a 10 scale rating...)

It's not terrible but man was it a pain to play. This was just not meant to be a gbc game lol. Has way too many issues and the ai is dumb. The music is kinda nice and the selection of characters are nice at least. It tried to be something it just couldn't be and wouldve been better on console instead. Still a bad game

I know some think it's weird and clunky compared to the NES one but I honestly think it's a bit of an improvement over the original, which is already a masterpiece in my eyes. The boxers are all so unique, the gameplay felt more interesting in the strategies you needed to use to win the opponents. The special meter is an improvement. The soundtrack is also nice and the game looks very nice. Idk I think it rocks. But I'll admit the original NES one will always be the most iconic

Such a fantastic hidden gem. It's basically an arcade style skydiving competition game. The music is such a banger and the presentation and artstyle are so stylish. The exaggerated sports announcer is also a nice touch. Basically you pick a team that represents a different country in an arcade style tournament of skydiving stages. You have to press certain buttons in correct sequence quickly to keep yourself from falling lower in altitude than your opponent. If you accumulate enough points you can send an "attack" sequence that locks your opponent in it until they complete it. It gets you at the edge of your seat. It being an arcade game it's pretty short but there being difficulty settings, different teams and multiplayer gives it nice replayability. Really solid PS1 hidden gem. My only gripes would have to be that some of the cutscenes and loading screens can be quite slow and lengthy. Also it feels like no matter the difficulty you choose it just feels like it barely ever gives you enough time to put your inputs. But besides that I absolutely love this game. It's not deep or anything but is it pure and quick thinking fun with a snazzy style and OST. Really recommend
