Super, super fun gameplay. This game was perfect for me as someone who is always riddled by school work and doesn't have the proper time to actually invest into speedrunning. I've also been a longtime fan of the speedrunning scene, so it was fun to dig my shoes into it! If you want to try your hand at speedrunning or maybe are just looking for some fast paced action, you've found it.

The dialogue in this is... interesting. It feels anime-y and the voice actors delivered on that feeling. I mostly just skipped the dialogue. LOOOOOOOVE the artstyle, though! Also the story, while ignored by most as speedrunning is the focus, is pretty neat! I recommend checking out a video on it or maybe paying attention to it in game. Whatever tickles your fancy.

Edit: I only found out about this game because I heard that Machine Girl did the soundtrack for it. My goats <3

This review contains spoilers

when i first started the game on release, i was left pretty bored, which is my usual experience with bethesda games... it was lacking the charm.
i came back to it 3 days ago, played it modded and finished it. already started a fresh playthrough!

honestly, the story is fun! multiverse stuff really tickles a certain spot for me. it can get pretty boring at times though. i loved the companions (sam coe my beloved space cowboy husband and sarah morgan my beloved nerdy british wife) as they were fun and they were all different enough so it didnt feel as if i was getting the same thing but repackaged. the planet exploring thing could genuinely be better, especially when it comes to finding the artifacts. it got boring repeating the formula of 'Land on Planet filled with Spacers/Pirates at an outpost - Clear the outpost - Go down cave - Find artifact :D' after your encounters with the other companions (EX: finding Andreja when going to search for another artifact... at the beginning).
A thing about the companions I liked a lot was that the progression towards the relationship felt actually normal. Not rushed at all. The only part in which it got rushed for me was when Sam wanted to marry me only like 12 hours after me and him started dating. lovestruck bastard :)
A problem with them tho is that they follow the classic Bethesda formula of U have gained my approval. We are now dating. We are now married. Yay. I wish there was more to it other than just a commitment gift, some new dialogue options and just getting called 'love' when I talk to them. That might just be me though :')

Personally, I'd recommend giving the game another shot again, although Bethesda did fuck this up and relied on people fixing up their messes... yet again. (Nobody is shocked.)
The boring moments are worth getting through to get to the ones in which you might, like me, audibly go 'WHAT THE FUCK!'. Sadly though, too many boring moments.

this game has taken too many years off my life. technically speaking, 1600+ hours.
(tagging as playstation 4 as ive played most hours on there before switching to pc.)

i miss what this game was. it might just be my nostalgia talking but the gameplay just feels less fun for me right now. a thing that turned me off during the switch to ow2 was also the battlepass system and basically a 'pay to have the cool shit you want' market. this hurt for me as a ftp player.
i, personally, cant find anymore enjoyment in it but i hope others are able to. although, community can be toxic as hell. i heavily recommend playing with friends.

cute cozy game with interesting characters and world. im absolutely in love with the art style! if you want something to play as a way to take off some steam, this game is for you.

genuinely a fun battle royale, considering the fact i dont play battle royales at all
i hope more people give this game a chance, it deserves way more players than it currently has <3

The level design in this game is so gorgeous I wasted a total of 5 hours in game just admiring it

only a higher rating because this game has sentimental value for me. thanks dad for recommending me the bioshock series :3
good gunplay imo, I liked the mindfuck aspect of the story and that's it mostly

loved it when my game kept crashing because of the copious amounts of booze in my inventory.

it's a good game! story isn't the best, side quests are fun, gameplay is good. it ends in a cliffhanger which is the biggest stinker of all since there hasn't been a new game in the series since this one :) (fuck embracer)
