The zoo gets way out of hand too quickly, it went from being relaxing to stressful in just a couple of hours. Meh

2022

Great art direction ruined by trash combat and an embarrassing checkpoint system. Wish this was just a horror puzzle game where you could walk around and enjoy the world... And you can't even give the devs the merit for the art since it's all been copied and pasted from Giger

Very cute and good soundtrack. Unfortunately I couldn't play for more than 2 hours, the controls are so clunky I just struggled to move around the world and after only playing a couple of in-game days it already felt repetitive

Started great. Really fun, the enemies weren't too many and the 6 items slot wasn't hard to manage. Then it slowly starts to get worse and worse, and by the time you get to the basement the game gets completely fucked. With no map you have to walk back and forth from the save-room 5000 fucking times because there are like 5 main puzzles active at a time and the game throws around all kinds of different items. Plus the enemies are literally everywhere and they get tougher and tougher making it a drag even to walk around. The story also doesn't help since it's the usual uninteresting abstract shit that requires you to go look it up on youtube (only to find out that it's as trashy as you thought it was). Oh, and of course it's full of random cringe waifus covered in blood. What a waste...

It was fun for the first 20 minutes. Then it soon gets really repetitive and kinda frustrating, the concept of exploring the map like that is not interesting at all and it just becomes obtuse after you get past the first few potions. How is somebody supposed to consistently make complicated potions if it takes so many ingredients? Not great overall

I fully expected to hear obnoxious meta jokes over and over, but this wasn't the case. The dialogues are mostly just decent but there's a lot of funny lines. The gameplay is really fun, nothing groundbreaking but I was never bored while shooting and exploring. There's just two main problems I had with it; there's little to no variety of enemies throughout the whole game and there's a lot of bugs (mostly stuff that can be fixed with patches). Luckily I didn't found anything game-breaking, just annoying little glitches. Overall it's a good game and a nice change of pace, people here giving low scores because "the jokes are cringe" are just pretentious

Honestly the game offers one thing, and it does it badly. The movement is not satisfying at all. The only redeemable part is that it looks pretty

Deserves 5 stars but I can't give it more than 4.5 because the performance on day 1 were disgusting and almost on par with the Cyberpunk problems.
If the game wasn't as good as it is, everybody would still talk about those problems to this day.

I also chose to make a normie dex/blood build because the weapons looked cool, only to find out that they were bugged and didn't do any damage; and it took them like 2 fucking months to fix it, so I did the whole run with normal Quality weapons. NEVER play games on day 1 unless you absolutely can't wait, this shit will happen.

Good game overall, although it's a shame that the combat becomes absolutely garbage for a while after the "volcano event". The bosses are mostly trash; this combat system is so fun against normal enemies but it's clearly not made for boss fights, so why is the game filled with them? All of them are 90% R1/RB spam and 10% of trying to hit, now try to play that with all your stats lowered.
Rice farming is very tedious at the beginning but gets more "fun" as you progress, the game is generally not well paced.
The story is pretty decent for an anime game, but the game overall is too slow at the beginning and way too long.
Good starting point for a better polished sequel.

Absolutely incredible, it's crazy how well this masterpiece aged

Thank god I don't have to sit through those cringe weeb dialogues. The gameplay is cool but for what it offers the game is definitely too long. I dropped it but I feel like I didn't miss out on anything.

Controller doesn't work and keyboard controls are atrocious. Also really repetitive, I'm not wasting any more of my time

2017

Loved it on PS4, finished it and completed a shit ton of endgame side missions (the ones that weren't basically impossible without having maxed out stats). But when replaying it on PC a couple of years later, I just wanted to kill myself after a while. It's crazy how quickly it becomes repetitive, and the artificial difficulty is incredibly frustrating. Still the best non-From Software souls like, which shows how hard it is to get this genre right.

Combat is clunky, build variety is a joke, the story is just basic anime garbage, and a few maps have some of the worst level design I've ever seen in a game. Honestly though, I didn't hate it and had fun, probably because I played it a lot with friends.

This game is so forgettable, way worse than Unity in so many aspects
