The story is trash, despite some interesting ideas. I got the very underwhelming Chaos ending, so I went looking for the "canon" Neutral ending on YouTube and it was just as bad.
There is like no payoff for any plot point. Almost nothing is explained, you just wander around the terrible Tokyo map (while Mikado is completely ignored) doing fetch quests and killing demons for random people.
And all of this is just made worse by the disgusting English dub, and the character design and artstyle which I personally don't like at all.

And don't get me started on the awful Alignment system. It's almost impossible to get on the Neutral path without following an extremely strict guide (they literally suggest you to not do any side quest). So you're stuck with Flynn becoming an extremist genocidal piece of shit.

The combat is fun in the first half of the game or so, but becomes extremely boring towards the end of the game when you just start to spam Megidola on all encounters. Also the bosses are mostly frustrating damage sponges that unfairly one shot your entire team if the luck isn't on your side. So most of them were just a matter of how many times I needed to close and reopen the game before I got lucky.

I think this series is stuck in the past, there's a reason it naturally shifted into Persona. There you have an actual story, with actual dungeons, and actual characters you can interact with.

Fun experience that got me hooked since the beginning, but flawed in many aspects.

It tries to be two games at once while failing to go in-depth for either of them. But I can say that the cult management was way more fun than the combat, which often felt like a chore to get more resources for your cult.

Lmao NG+ is ass, you need to grind so much just for a couple of suit colors.

I'm lowering my score even more

Stunning visuals, incredible soundtrack and overall great atmosphere. But you can't ask me to play the same thing over and over and over again just with different characters and in different biomes...

Overall pretty mediocre in all of its aspects. Nothing stands out particularly but I didn't hate it. Luckily I didn't buy into the hype and I played after it was """fixed""".

Also, I hate Male V's voice actor with a fucking passion.

Just wasted 30€ on a game that requires you to have no life to even play it.
And the reward for learning the game mechanics? Playing the same three levels with the same 10 type of enemies in it lmao.
Don't buy this if you have to go to uni or you have a job.

I'm extremely disappointed.

Every character is incredibly boring, but at least the story was half decent before Kraven's death (which was the only good part of the story by far), then it went downhill and felt incredibly rushed. The pacing of the story was trash for the start, but the last act just felt like a long grind until the final fight.
Overall I think they played it too safe with how predictable everything was, and with the corny millennial "MCU writing".

The side content is still complete garbage, especially the rewards, which are either ugly ass suits or little easter egg scenes that nobody cares about.

It feels so rushed and unpolished. No NG+, no character bios, no podcast audios to replay, no endgame options (like weather and time of day change). The graphics are also overrated as fuck, fidelity is useless obviously because who the fuck plays games at 30 fps in 2023, and performance looks so blurry.

Overall a mediocre triple A esclusive that doesn't go out of its way to do anything different or innovative, especially when it comes to the open world formula. I expected more from Insomniac, if I wasn't a big spider-man fan I would've been way more harsh.

P.S. I hope Insomniac is giving us a shit ton of new suits with free upgrades and DLCs because the costumes selection of the base game leaves a lot to be desired. It's mostly movie suits and mid original designs. Seriously I don't know what the fuck are they doing in the design department at Insomniac, 99% of their original designs are trash.

2018

Probably the most overrated game of the last decade?

I honestly do not understand why this generic rogue-like gets so much praise. It's literally just a good game for his genre, nothing more.

The only game where my girlfriend is better than me

I should've played the original game on a PS2 emulator, this doesn't feel like the original experience. Even from videos you can see that the art direction was kind of butchered.

Finished it in one day btw, I had nothing to do that saturday.

Even though this is a direct improvement of almost every aspect of Breath of the Wild, it misses the novelty and the incredible sense of exploration of the first game. For this reason I feel it deserves a lower rating compared to the full 10/10 of BOTW.

Way too much backtracking, and the game ironically doesn't hold your hand enough.

Also, the combat is in a tier of difficulty that I don't like at all. It's a little too punishing if you're aggressive but gets extremely easy if you're slow (especially because parries are OP). So it makes some enemies even more tedious to fight because you can't beat them by being fast and aggressive.

The art style was gorgeous for the most part but the locations backgrounds of the early game are mostly bland and generic.

The game is decent if you like doing tedious backtracking and if you have enough free time, I personally don't want to play a game where in order to progress the two options are:
- explore every room of the map at random, since there are no clues given by NPCs on where to go next
- search what to do on Google and "ruin" the experience

Nobody understands the FROM SOFTWARE souls formula. We need SOME clues to at least progress the game; going around randomly is not fun, especially when there are practically no movement skills like fast dashes or double jumps (at least not in the first 4 hours I played).

Generic open world action RPG.

The magic of being in the Harry Potter world wears out after a couple of hours at best, revealing how boring and repetitive everything this game "offers" is.

The last straw was losing like 4 hours of progress for no fucking reason. It's 2023 and this type of shit is still happening? I dropped the game right after.

Why is everything so fucking clunky?
Eivor feels so heavy, moving around in this game is by far the most uncomfortable I've ever been when controlling a character.
This is supposedly an Assassin's Creed game, it should be the opposite, the movement should be an highlight of the game. How did they regress so much from Unity?
Also the controls in general sucks, and you can't even change them lmao.

Apart from the incredibly long and boring prologue, the game becomes super fun once you start unlocking new weapons and powers.
The loop system isn't complicated at all but following the story and completing some of the puzzles is way too hard tbh.
Overall good game but definitely the weakest among the modern Arkane games, I'll wait for Dishonored 3.
