Less a sequel and more a grab bag of levels that didn't make it into the original game for one reason or another.

Solid effort from the B team at Rare. The climbing levels and Canadian vibe are a highlight. Feels like one of those GBA games Rare made ported backwards to the Super Nintendo.

Backdrops are nice but graphics otherwise look surprisingly bad after playing DKC1.

another bad me-too indie platformer. this time it is blandly reproducing the retro Donkey Kong games with some aspects of modern kirby. you don't like these characters and the art direction isn't that good so why bother?

nice spinoff of fallout 3 but not as memorable as the original

Pretty good if you like retro-styled old school WRPG like Baldur's Gate, Planetscape, and Divinity Original Sin or if you don't have friends to just play D&D with. Personally this game is not for me as I think it is really boring and the art style is bland.

edit: Lowering score because glitches make the game unplayable. This should have been early access imo

ugly visuals will kill your platforming game, and this is the bad kind of platformer like super meat boy and Celeste. 2 strikes, you're out!

you can play in dandori mode or in "isn't it cute watching oatchi swim for an hour" mode and both are viable

For the most part the similar strengths and weaknesses of "Pikmin 1". The weaknesses in this one are a little more glaring because you lose things like the Duracell battery, but the cutscenes and water and textures look great.

I prefer Pikmin to Pikmin 2. This game has some crazy dungeons but they're less fun on replay when you know what awaits at the bottom.

gameplay wise it's what God of War 2018 should have been. think the first templar x asura's wrath. story and character wise it's nice to be a badass for once.

overall this is the first good final fantasy since 7 even if it is racist in it's cultural appropriation and bastardization of Hindu gods.

Great and convenient way to play two of the best games of all time, but play on Gamecube instead if you can.

Not the best way to experience this all time classic. The game looks good enough and is convenient to play, but the Switch struggles to play it and it introduces new glitches not present in the Gamecube version. The game was also built for a Gamecube controller so it does not control quite as well here, and it is sorely lacking options.

This is one of the best games ever made and you should definitely buy it if you don't have access to the Gamecube version, but if you do have the Gamecube version you should play it instead.

Impressive music and visuals, annoying dialogue. Better than Treasure Land Adventure and MC Kids, worse than Mission to Mcdonaldland.

A delightful platformer with wonderful progression, music, and atmosphere. Tough but fair challenges make you want to keep coming back. The height Sony platformers and Naughty Dog as a whole, if they had kept this quality up with sequels they could have beaten Sonic.

The one (admittedly big) downside here is the save system which makes no sense. That and the racism, but it's Naughty Dog so you know to expect a little bit of that going in.

the first good fighting game in over 10 years
