Without giving too much away, I think this is a fun, but small expansion. Breaker’s story certainly is the most impactful, but I would be lying if I said I wasn’t laughing out loud during Rose’s episode.

Love the narrative, and think the atmosphere is very immersive. Just wish the gameplay was a bit smoother. We also ran into a couple bugs that either softlocker or almost softlocked us, which was annoying.

The ambition of the animation style carries a lot of weight for me here because that really does add a special charm to the game. The gameplay and narrative are a bit clunky and tedious, but it feels consistent in a way that smooths out some of those rough edges. I think the ending sequence, while bittersweet, does a good job of really playing to the game’s strengths though and I enjoyed the experience overall. I would definitely recommend it though to fans of “cozy” indies.

What a major downgrade from the first two Bioshocks.

While the game may have mechanic similarities, the atmosphere and story are so far removed from those of the originals. Also, the “satire” of white evangelicals and weaponizing religion to promote bigotry and fascism is so incredibly ham-fisted. And don’t even get me started on having the PC be voiced (not a knock on the voice acting itself, it was fine).

We couldn’t motivate ourselves to finish the game despite binging Bioshock 1 and 2 in a matter of days.

A fun play that makes me feel like a kid again! I just wish the remaster had some more QoL improvements since it’s basically the same game with brighter graphics.

This is a game that holds a lot of sentimental value because I loved renting it from Blockbuster. It feels a little clunky now, but I still find it fun and charming all these years later.

Much like the first game, the story carries the game. The gameplay is a lot cleaner than the first, but still has moments of feeling tedious because of the repetitive mechanics.

The game definitely shows its age in some of the mechanics (even in the remaster), but the story and lore are very compelling and help smooth that over.

We got what I assume is the good ending (no little sisters harmed), and I think the idea that we are able to heal and save them from a life they didn’t chose is a really powerful counterpoint to the PC’s narrative.

Overall, a pretty good soulsborne! The pacing is relatively good and the story is interesting. My two issues are stargazer placement/frequency, and the jump in difficulty for the last string of bosses feeling a little steep for the prior pacing. Definitely a fun play though!

I got way too emotional playing this game. It is very calming since it’s basically Tetris. I just wish there were more once it’s done.

what an incredible experience that i cant do justice to in a short review

love the story and feeling like i’m living out Twin Peaks

don’t love the clunky gameplay that was clunky even for 2010

Loved the update and dlc overall, but don't love the new ending

The stories are interesting, but the gameplay is very tedious sometimes.
