The Roguelite + Town Building mashup should appeal to me but none of this works.

The Roguelite stuff is so barebones, weapons don't feel different, you don't get any cool powers, no synergies etc. You literally just mash Square and use Magic sometimes and dodge.

The Town Building stuff is so badly put together imo. Sometimes stuff just doesn't work, there's no real UI to display anything to the player, and worst of all, I never felt like I was actually upgrading anything. The Town management system is so stressful and hard to understand that I can't recommend this game to any casual player.

One of the craziest decisions this game made is that your followers die. When you recruit a new follower you're encouraged to name them which I assumed would work similarly to X-Com in which it makes you care more about each villager. But around 1 hour into the game, my first villager named after my girlfriend died, then I came back from a dungeon and all of my early villagers who I named after my friends had grown old. Eventually I just stopped naming them and at this point I couldn't tell you any of the names of my current villagers. I don't think I had any more than 16 cultists at the one time (other than grinding for the 20 you need to unlock the final boss.) WHY do you not grow a huge army! A 16 person cult isn't a Cult.

Lastly this game is buggy and has crashed multiple times on my PS5. Overall the game feels unfinished and reminds me of when Biomutant got hyped up and then was just ok. This game isn't bad, but it's not an 85/100, it's just fine.

Check out The Adventure Pals from the same developer which I really liked, but if you want a game similar to this, just play Hades or Spiritfarer instead.

Really enjoyed this as a podcast game but wish it had some QoL features to make it less mind numbing at the end of each level trying to find the 1 piece of dirt you haven't cleaned.

Also I can't imagine playing this on Xbox, like sitting for 6 hours (this is how long the final level is) purely just playing this? Sounds insane.

Played this 2 days ago and I still have a mark on my hand.

Very fun though and highly recommend finding it if you’re in Berlin

The 3.4 average here is crazy I'm sorry. Just did not like anything here which is such a shame after that long buildup. Story is eh and none of the jokes did anything for me. But the combat couldn't save it. Genuinely feels like it could have came out in 2016. Dying Light exists!!!

Really didn't interest me and I wouldn't have played it if it wasn't for the trophy but I did like seeing some of the gameplay changes they'd made!

Really impressive for such a small (SCOTTISH!) team. Sadly it's very short and I found every puzzle super super easy. Really cool ideas though, just wish it had been built upon more.

Feel like if I played this in 2016 I would have liked it way more? It's just kinda fine, I'm two months on from finishing it and it hasn't really stuck with me. Very very impressive for a small team though!

Also kinda feel like I didn't fully understand the story, even after 3 playthroughs

Good fun! Quite satisfying but I've hit a roadblock near the end of the game and I think the game wants me to minmax so I'm boosting.

There's a really interesting thing here where you can connect your game to your Twitch stream and the more subs you get, the better boosts you get. But you can literally input anyone's Twitch. So if you REALLY want to, you can speed up a lot of the game by connecting to xqc. Sure it's cheating but SO FUN to see everything come in.

I have less of an affinity for Tomb Raider than I do FF7 but this one was still fun! Very very excited for the Spongebob one

Undeniably better than the first, from a personal side I just prefer the more mature story, and on a gameplay side I love how much more open it feels than the first game (also the trophy list is way better)

I'm clearly missing something here and that's fine! Probably my least fav RE game out of the ones I've played (the order is probably 7, 2R, 4, Village, 3R, 4R)

Feel like playing the OG for the first time so close to this was a mistake, I just prefer that version so much.

I do really like how this game fucks up the game order a little bit and completely flips some areas so it's not JUST a remake. I remember when the demo came out and everyone was moaning about them removing the dog, like no, they just moved it! Calm down! Suriel Vazquez's video about this is very very good.

The combat is the biggest weakness here, I just kinda felt like I was never doing any damage and that's not fun. I get it's survival horror but I want real feedback when I shoot!

They did make some good Leon/Ashley additions though which I liked, and they added a German Suplex.

Think I prefer it to the first game but it didn't do much for me to be honest, really like the different environments and the puzzles have improved I think.

Also even if the story falls slightly flat for me, I really appreciate that they TRIED. Kinda feels like if they had a bigger budget then this could be an all timer.

However I do kinda wish this was just a linear game. No spoilers but there's a small section where you play as another character and it's an on rails linear section and is quite clearly the best part of the game.

I really love this. Just a super simple gameplay loop paired by likeable characters and a decent story. The score is incredible too and I'm really excited to play Thirsty Suitors purely for the score!

Feels clunky at times which is a huge issue but otherwise it feels great + looks great. Absolutely stunning game.

Jacob Geller says the story is good too but there were far too many notes for me to read. Liked the basic Journey-esque stuff though

Took me ages to review this but yeah it's really good obviously. Think I had too high expectations that it didn't meet but this was such a joy to play.

Also has one of the funniest moments of the year it came out (First time trying to get the Master Sword)
