Gorgeous, moving, fun as hell to play. Perfect length for me—finished the game, did 100% sidequests and collected all the life/energy cells in 19 hours.

I'm always saying I want something different—and this was quite different indeed. A really lovely experience of exploration and solitude with a unique movement mechanic that puts a welcome twist on the 'explore and read letters to get the story' genre. The environmental allegory is a little on-the-nose but still carries an impact. As someone who gets shaky climbing up to the roof of my one-story house, I found the scale of this game exhilarating and the setting was so well-realized that I had a tough time not blowing through in one sitting. Yet another decisive Game Pass victory!

typography! themes! transubstantiation!

if this game just played 'lonely rolling star' when you put it in your PS2 it'd still be a classic!

YOUR FATHER HELPED ME LIKE THAT TOO

THE retro game. total masterpiece. i play it annually like christopher lee reading lord of the rings.

basement, oddjob, slappers only

the bad news: a flawed game bursting with creativity and brilliant ideas. several of my favorite video game levels of all time alongside one of my most hated. control, camera and movement not quite up to the challenge that the game presents.

the good news: they fixed all that shit in the sequel.

bad news: while the conceit of "the first half of the game is exploring the minds of sane people, the second half is iNsAnE people," was very clever and presented in a very benign way, it feels like a holdover from a different, less compassionate time in our culture.

good news: they fixed all that shit in the sequel!

bad: jack black, armin shimerman, rosearik rikki simons and other celebrity guests aren't in it

good: sequel!!!!!!!1!!!

the hype was real! everything people said about this game is true. 122 runs, 75 clears, 45 clear streak. i would have kept playing but the sequel is coming!

total banger. holds up. the play control, player freedom and vibe are excellent but the music is the best part.

everyone has the game they played with their friends where everyone spurred each other to greater heights, to play mind games with layers of "well he knows that i know that he knows that i know..." and to utterly humiliate newcomers who think they're hot shit.

this is mine. peaches got it!

no head to head bowling where you alternate frames with your opponent. like actual bowling. why. faithful update and upgrade besides that though, even if the outfits are pure FOMO heroin

usually i have a lot more trouble making decisions in games like this!
