AWESOME game! So much flavour text for a story-focused player like me. The assist controls were very useful to help me out a couple times, because I'm not great at shooters. Ended up finishing with about 29 hours on my playthrough, and I haven't even played The Foundation yet! Will definitely be coming back to this later.

Kind of boring, kind of interesting. Very flat characters. A time travel story that seems to actually make sense somehow. I'm not a huge fan of 'choices have consequences' game narratives. Maybe get it if it's on sale? I only played it to complete my Remedy catalogue.

Still, my instinct is to go easy on this game in terms of criticism. I found the story forgettable, but you can see the way that Remedy was experimenting with live action and more ambitious storytelling here, something that seemed to really pay off in Control and even more so in Alan Wake II.

I FINALLY BEAT IT! AND I'M GONNA PLAY IT AGAIN! BECAUSE THERE'S SO MUCH TO EXPLORE! BTW IF YOU HAVEN'T BOUGHT IT YET IN 2024 AND ARE THINKING OF PLAYING IT, JUST PIRATE IT BECAUSE IT WAS STOLEN FROM THE ORIGINAL CREATORS YADA YADA YADA YOU KNOW THE STORY

In which Alan enlists the help of multiple sexy white ladies to stop his sexy doppelganger to be with his sexy wife again

I had so much fun collecting those coffee thermoses and looking at Alan's weird bug eyes

I recommend using a guide if you get stuck, like i did, because it was still satisfying to go through all the main endings. Better than leaving the game unfinished. I recommend it if you like mystery games!
