The results are in and these are the top 10 characters of royalty as chosen by you. There was a tie for last place, but I skipped the tie breaker round because the popularity of these is heavily faded, and with only a 2-way tie it's easy to put them both in.

Welcome to the first character-based showdown! In this one, instead of voting for games, you'll be voting for, well, characters.

This showdown's theme is characters who are royalty.

I'm doing away with trying to make a bunch of rules and clarifications about what counts and what doesn't. I'm letting you guys decide what you want to based on the prompt alone, and my 'rules' are more just little things about how I'm adding the votes. The only one I can think of in this showdown is that Zelda, despite being a different character in most games, will be considered one character for all versions here for simplicity sake.

General Rules/Tips:
-Write your list in the comments. You can include up to 10 characters in your list. If you add more than 10, anything after 10 will be ignored. You can add less than 10 if you want, and all will be counted.

-In your list put the character name, and then in brackets either the series or game they come from. E.g "Princess Peach (Super Mario series)"

-The first 3 on your list will be awarded 2 points, all after will be worth just 1. You can opt out of this if you want.

-Try to be as clear as possible which character you're voting for. I just write the answers given into an Excel spreadsheet, so if your answer differs from the "common" way a character is listed it may not be immediately noticeable that it's the same one and I add it as a new entry. For example if someone said "Princess Peach" and another said "Princess Toadstool" and I didn't happen to know they were the same character, they'd go under separate entries. Basically just use the most common name, or use both names.

-If you want to change a vote, don't delete your original comment as it could throw off the count. Just write a new comment saying "I want to swap X for Y"
