Great game, has a lot of issues but I can’t help but love it. The live action stuff is honestly really fun even if they can’t direct action for shit. Shoutout Charlie Wincott of “the biggest prick in the world” archetype and also my favourite character in the game.

i forgot to log this when i actually finished it and had my thoughts collected but it was great

sick game, just absolutely so edgy but also they love to zoom in on the sam lake's png face and when they do its the funniest game i have ever played.

the best star wars game (easily) (this game rules)

i forgot to log this one but its an incredible game even if the new one already feels like its better

as a first time playing any version of this game I know a lot of what it does has been replicated many many times over

but I can recognize a perfectly crafted action game when I play one

when I started this replay I kind of hated the combat and by the end I liked it.
I still prefer the second game but this game is also awesome ! !!

holy shit they made me actually really enjoy a turn based combat system

Oh my god this game is sick.

Easily the best of the original god of war games, and the peak of this type of over-the-top insane spectacle video game in a way that only the finale of a trilogy like this can be.
While the story is still just a means to get the player to get to the big fights, and just very edgy and with an honestly unnecessary number of boobs, the writing still clearly had a decent amount more effort put into it. While not every attempt to make the story be more interesting or mean something more lands, this is still a major improvement over the first two.
They almost perfected the combat of this formula in this one, with exactly the right amount of complexity, the only issue to me is the gauntlets being a bit too good and a bit too fun compared to the other weapons, leading me to mostly use only them for the rest of the game.
The spectacle of this game is just so cool, with most of the best boss fights in the series, and some of the best moments that come together to be one of the best games of the 7th gen and is such a perfect and definitive end to this style of god of war game.

Fun flawed little video game.

Combat is really fun, complex enough to make the gameplay engaging but not to a point where you are thinking about every action the whole time.
The story is engaging but very simple, where the whole game is just Kratos goes to kill Ares, and edgy to a point where its just really funny, especially when Kratos just kills civilians for no reason, and the line: "no matter how many women he had in his bed, nothing on earth could rid him of the horrors that plagued his mind."
My favourite part by far is the setting though, its just such a cool interpretation of greek myths to build this story, and makes for such a cool world to go through.
I really like the ending boss fight, where you fight big Ares as big Kratos, and it is kind of goofy since the physics are exactly the same so you just play a giant with the exact same moves is a combat arena that is effectively a mini scale city.
This game is fairly repetitive though, and with some annoying mechanics that just make specific points really frustrating, and any encounter when enemies infinitely respawn is always terrible.

Overall i like this game though.

I'm gonna try and do no spoilers, but I will talk about the themes and arcs of this game. Yeah it has been 2 years since the game came out but if somehow you managed to avoid spoilers this game is definitely worth trying to go in blind.

Goddamn I did not think this game would work for me.

I came in expecting to like this game a lot, but I didn't think I would like it this much. I have been relatively spoiled on this game before playing it, knowing a lot of the major events and the ending. I didn't expect this game to make me love Abby this much, I didn't expect this game to make me cry in the ways that it did, and I didn't expect to come out of this game struggling to decide which TLOU game I like more.

As with the first Last of Us, this game is not perfect. Where TLOU 1 had a top tier story with fairly okay gameplay, this game makes pretty decent improvements in its combat while still being relatively basic and simple, but overall this game is just a bit too long. I don't know where they could've shortened anything to tell the story this game wanted to tell, but it suffers a tiny bit as a result.

The way Ellie and Abby's stories parallel and contrast each other so vastly is one of the game's biggest strengths. Ellie's story of revenge and being so completely unable to move on from a traumatic event, contrasted with Abby's story of trying to become a better person after going through the same kind of obsession with revenge as Ellie.

This story is so effective in the way it had me so thoroughly change my mind about a character that I hated. I love the way this story gets you to think about the opposite perspectives to the characters I love. It wants you to try to empathize or at least try to understand the motivations of most characters and factions in the game (except for the generic ass random evil guys l at the end) It wants you to think that maybe Abby was justified in what she did, and have you not know what to think about that.

but yeah erm i did like this game a lot.

2022

despite the lack of interactivity and movement anything, this game has a pretty damn intriguing world that managed to keep me interested the whole way through. + the most important part of playing as a funny cat with funny cat animations doing funny cat things.

best 2d platformer of all time ever

loved this game from start to finish,

pretty much everything in this game gets better the further in you get.

the combat system starts off pretty decent but then gets more awesome the more abilities you get, with most of the movement abilities changing your options wildly in a fight.

the writing isn't amazing but it is carried by the world building and atmosphere, but god damn does it carry it well.

i love pretty much every aspect of this game go play it now.

this game is kind of literally everything i wanted it to be,
pretty different from other lego games, it is way more focused on the open world stuff, and that stuff is awesome. probably the best open world star wars game ever made as well, there has never been another star wars game to let you explore the locations where them movies take place like this one. the collectable finding part of this game is also insanely addictive and cool.
