Kingdom Hearts II is a great example that a game can have several annoying aspects or sections but still be amazing based off of vibe and a good finale. Second visits to each world could be pretty annoying and yet it still never lost me, because the game never fails at feeling engaging in both gameplay and especially in its story and characters. A genuine, absolute joy from beginning to end even despite the annoyances I have with certain sections. Maybe one day I'll come back to fight the superbosses, but for now I look forward to seeing how the games progress from here for myself!

The last of the Half-Life 1 trilogy...

Half-Life: Blue Shift is the second and last (if you exclude Decay) expansion to Half-Life 1, this game focuses on the story of Barney Calhoun also known as that one guy from Half-Life 2.
Blue Shift is a lot shorter than the main game and Opposing Force, it adds nothing new to the game other than its own campaign, and it's nothing to be gawking at... It plays like you'd expect, it's more Half-Life, but compared to the main game it's a lot more boring, there's a bunch of pushing puzzles, some escort missions, and a lot of waiting around for cutscenes.

Overall a pretty boring expansion which isn't bad, it's just underwhelming and I feel like they could've done something much better.

cursed my friend with playing it. gave them chest pains. learned how to double jump though so it's worth it.

i'm sorry sharky squishmallow

When I walked into my science lesson the other day, they were talking about how radioactive decay can affect and make an unstable atomic nucleus. When they mentioned that half-life was involved, I eagerly put my hand up. The teacher, quite surprised I actually cared about the subject, let me ask the question.

“Surely half-life can only happen twice?”

Well before we got the great game that was, half-life 2, and then nothing after it except for 2 episodes. We got half-life, the original fps adventure all the way on pc. It was developed by valve, a company formed from ex-Microsoft workers. They thought: ‘well why don’t we just make a game company and make some of the most critically acclaimed games of all time’. And that’s exactly what they did. Unfortunately, due to a freak accident, they lost that ability to count over 2. So that was a mini history lesson about half-life and its creators. But the real question is, 25 years later, does it still hold up?

You play as Gordon freeman. Just an average scientist going to his day work. That is until he does an experiment and it goes terribly wrong. He accidentally ends up creating a portal to another dimension known as xen, which then unleashes its creatures. Gordon is forced to try and find a way to close the portal and get out unharmed. However things get more dangerous once the HECU get involved. They are forced to kill every single black mesa employee and any xen creatures they find, in an attempt to cover up the incident. The story is pretty simple for what it is but I also quite like how simple it is. With Gordon eventually finding that the portal is being forced open by a creature from the other side. But before we tackle what happens near the ending, let’s talk about the gameplay.

The gameplay is pretty similar to most standard fps games. You cover and shoot, picking up health upgrades and armour upgrades on your way. You also have quite the arsenal. For a simple day to day scientist he sure knows his way around a gun or two. The weapon selection includes: the classic crowbar, pistol, shotgun, submachine gun, hornet gun, and others. There are quite a wide range of weapons and they each function in different ways. The weapons also get more powerful as you go along. The weapons feel pretty weak once you get to later parts of the game but are still very usable. There are also parkour sections and puzzle sections. These puzzles aren’t too mind blowing, mainly just being using boxing to build a staircase up to an area, navigating conveyor belts, and things such as that. Later on you even get a little extra manoeuvrability with the fact you can long jump. The gameplay is pretty simple but also has that slight level of complexity which makes it so interesting.

After everything, Gordon finally goes into xen. The world where all of the creatures have been coming out of. It’s almost a miserable world yet it’s also quite interesting at the same time. It has hev suits from previous researchers. It kind of adds to that cold atmosphere that it’s trying to set up. After that though, Gordon finally tackles his final xen monster and then, it’s over, it’s finally over…or so we thought. A mysterious man who has been following you through out finally reveals himself. His name is G-Man. He gives him a choice: to come work with him or be teleported to a bunch of alien soldiers where he dies. If it was me I would’ve let Gordon die because I’m silly like that but…everyone knows the canon ending is that Gordon accepts G-Man’s offer.

And that’s half-life! It still holds up pretty well today and it still has the same level of respect it did all those years ago. Sure there are some parts that make me question the design but it’s still excellently put together and you can tell. If you ask me, it’s a shame that half-life 3 may never happen. This is clearly a series with lots and lots of love put into it and it’s almost a shame that they won’t continue it any further. But I still find it respectable that even today, they clearly care about half-life, and so does the community. I’m so happy to have finally tried one of the most respected fps games of all time.

Great story, good gameplay, wonderful level design…most of the time, excellent weapon selection, great 90’s vibe, I’m sorry to all the scientists and security that died due to my silly ass

Two questions to decide if you'll enjoy PN03:
Do you enjoy arcade style games that involve trying to get a high score by doing the same thing over and over?

Does the "sexy girl shooting robots while inside a 2004 iMac and jamming to electronica" aesthetic appeal to you at all?

If you said "yes" to both of these then this is a great game.
PN03 is absolutely not a game for everyone. The gameplay is clunky (tank controls being a factor), the action is repetitive, and the scenery rarely changes. But if you're into the vibe of the game and come from a world where a high score is bragging rights, then PN03 is genuinely a great time.

Very ambitious for a 2D Bomberman, you should rerelease this Konami, you should do anything Konami, you should

Essas e muitas outras coisas que eu poderia simplesmente ignorar, mas me ajudaram a me colocar nesse ambiente bizarro.

As someone who's played over 8000 hours of this game and maxed an Ultimate Ironman, I actually find it a very daunting task to write a review for this game.
In truth, it's really difficult to recommend, and I would actively recommend against playing this game. It is extremely addictive once you get into it, the lategame grinds are extremely long and the game's current development team seems to be worse than the one we had 5 years ago. Strangely enough, it doesn't capitalise on FOMO, which I find impressive.
I don't regret a single minute spent playing this game, it's extremely fun and rewarding to play. If you're someone with a lot of time, and you love constantly progressing (and seeing numbers go up), give this game a shot. This game might take over your life though, so be warned.
If you value your time, I would avoid this game. It's a fantastic game, but it takes up so much of your time, it's hard to recommend.

My only concern with the game is the current development team. The best updates this game has had are stuff like Chambers of Xeric (2017), Inferno (2017) and Theatre of Blood (2018). Since then, there were some game developers leaving the company.
The more recent updates are received quite negatively. To name a few: Forestry (2023), Tempoross (2021), Tombs of Amascut (liked by beginners/medium level players, hated by experienced players) (2022), Nex (2022), Phosani's Nightmare (2021).
This game hasn't really had great new content, and the current team has this problem where they abandon content 2 weeks after they've released it. For example, Tombs of Amascut has a washing list of bugs which are publicly known and reported - they are never fixed. Nex and Phosani are almost universally hated, yet nothing is being done to alleviate this. It seems the current devs only want to create new content to grab new players, and leave existing content in their buggy, unwanted state.
Luckily, this month they released QoL fixes for the Chambers of Xeric, which is content from 2017, and this update was amazing. It revived this content while removing a lot of the annoyances. This update alone gave me some hope for the development team, and I hope they continue this.

I left this running in the background so Steam would let me buy the emote of gnomechild Pogging

You must know this was of my first gaming experiences because of the arcade machine that was in one of my village's bars.
I never finished the normal mode... until todady. It was hard, not only its an arcade and it must take your money but you have your greatest enemy: you. Thats a clever manner to play: you can be so powerful by the upgrades but you can hurt yourself.

I really love this game but I can put it any higher either. The music is great.
