This game is functionally held together by duct tape, but past that is a story that has resonated with me like no other. I need there to be an official remaster even on the caliber of Chrono Cross (post-patches). Absolutely special RPG, a must-play.

most innovative fraudulent video game

2020

Putting this game down as "earthbound-inspired rpg maker game about depression" is immensely underselling it in all honesty

Really really good, absolutely recommended, but I feel like the final stretch was half-baked, and too much critical story content is treated as optional and missable, leaving a few arcs potentially stonewalled if you didn't get to them.

Everything else about it is utterly sublime though.

The dealer shot himself in the first round despite there objectively being no blanks left, then the game whiplashed by not giving me any cigs until after my defibrillator was cut in the final round, making them worthless and netting me my singular game over.

GOATed.

Pretty good but the Crash Bomb puzzle room can suck my ass

The best Xenosaga entry, but even it has its fair share of troubles. I'm a little more excusing due to the circumstances surrounding it at this point, but there's a lot of plot threads that end too unceremoniously, among other snags. That being said when it hits, it hits hard.

Also the combat is the most well-rounded of the trilogy. Superbosses are contenders for best in the genre. Music is utterly sublime too, has Kajiura's best compositions.

the best NES Mega Man, has its issues but still a really tight package

I could not care less about the artifact hunt, I still think this game is my unbeatable all-time best.

really good first half with a massively deflating second half, why does Doc Robot exist

I think the upgrade system shouldn't even be in the game and it should've just gone for a proper Metroidvania/SEARCH ACTION progression system, but the game still rocks anyway. Rating the full package as one whole here.

The beginning was kinda slower than it should've but that's not really a big issue for me. Loved the hell out of this game. The jumpscares got annoying though.

I need to do Final Draft, will append when I do so.
