all these arguments always play out the exact same and I'm tired of seeing them

True
-Any conversation about translation/localization/censorship, esp when it hinges on OOC screenshots or dated fan translations
-Is This LGBT Character Beloved By LGBT People ACTUALLY Good Representation?
-JRPGs and ""grinding""
-Motion inputs in fighting games
-Are Save States Cheating?
-pre-7th gen or retro games and their status as 'outdated' or not
-anything involving the state of 3D Sonic, fangames/indies "fixing it", and whether or not the franchise was always bad

Are turn-based RPGs outdated?
Is game piracy immoral?
Should game translation be literal or liberal?
Porn games are not real games.
are video games mature?
oh shit also lives in games
are remakes remasters worthless
$70
Different flavours of "is boomershooter a dumb term"/"should boomershooters have a different name"
all of them. I’m tired of arguing about genre definitions or what constitutes “gameplay”. we need to evolve to a much stranger, much dumber form of discourse. blood should spill in the streets over whether video game good looking delicious is problematic. i want arguments that end relationships to be over whether visual novels should have movement tech.

Theres one that everytime I hop on twitter I end up seeing and its whether the guy who made the mod to remove the lgbt flag in that spiderman game should be banned from nexus or not.
The whole discussion is just the average right wing extreme freedom of expression bullshit. The only argument they have is a poor man's Ben Shapiro rethoric that mods that did the same (or worse) but with microscopic fame compared to the flag one, werent removed yet.

ppl who disagree w me
another vote for "are turn-based JRPGs outdated?"
When someone recommends a GameCube game to someone else and then gets accused of recommending something really bad on purpose
People who believe all low poly era games look like dogshit now.
Because they're wrong.
Because they're wrong.
Not sure if this an "argument" as such but I hate the whole "JRPGs are all just about high schoolers killing god" thing
literaly anything involving tlou2
anything about sonic being never good
anything about genre categorizations (it's good we question the common classification, but come on, the whole discussion is just ad nauseam)
anything about "cheating" (savestates, easy mode, easier remaster/remakes, for the love of god, the discussion is so black and white)
To be honest though these discussions aren't a bad thing by themselves and I've seen some interesting arguing on old forums and stuff (were they actually arguing offcourse, not calling slurs or shit). It's the mainstream approach to discussion that taints it all, with buzzwords, closeted arguments, repeats and repeats of not-very convincing catchphrases, misinformation, and trying to reduce everything in 10-min max videos with 2 minutes of said video use to promote whatever VPN is hot at the moment. Or the shitty passive aggresive articles, or the actually good articles smeared in dogshit, infuriating titles specifically made to piss you off and generate artificial conversation on feed. It's the bastardization in the discussion, not the controversy itself.

Video games get old
Seconding comment above "Do video games get old / age?"
the "why do i hate jrpgs and anime but love persona 5?" shit is so groan worthy. it's barely a discussion but goddamn it's irritating.
"Are video games getting worse or is it just my nostalgia?"
"Are walking simulators video games?" (or if you really want to dig further, "Is Dear Esther a video game?")
"Are visual novels video games?"
"Can interactive fiction be video games?
