Levels get progressively worse, and the camera clearly didn't age well, but such an important game. First played it around 2006 and back then it still felt modern.

Even if the latter part of the game isn't as fun, video game as a whole probably doesn't get much better than what the first few levels of this game offers.

The music... The mood... The carefully well crafted levels... This is a masterpiece. Life changing experience.

The music... The gameplay... The way superior SMT way to get demons than whatever the fuck Persona 3 and 4 offered... The carefuly crafted dungeons... Makoto... (!!!)

This is peak video game. The FF7 of our era.

Video game as a medium peaked on March 3, 2017. It never surpassed it afterward.

They fucking outplayed Bethesda lmfao

Oh, to be a young adult in 2005, buying RE4 day one on the way home from work, and playing it all night... THE peak of the Y2K era...

That wasn't me though as back in 2005 I was 10 years old and was too busy playing Nintendogs.

Sometimes hella good, sometimes hella mid.

Cool story though, but gameplay wise it's the same as before but somehow less fun because of some weird changes.

HAL showed us they can stand along Nintendo EPD when it comes to peak 3D platforming. Soul, soul, soul.

Way more different to RE4 than some people make it sound like. Barely an action game, focus is on the exploration of a carefully crafted creepy and out of place world. But when it bangs, it bangs extremely well. Replays with infinite ammos (this time around, like in RE3make, with any weapon you like, not just a few special weapons) is incredibly fun.

Giving so much content for 40€ is insane. Such a good deal, and a fucking great trilogy.

It never gets as immersing in its gameplay opportunities and creativity as a MGS5, but it's still super fun.

The game lost a lot of its soul because of the new artstyle (it does look good ! But it's not the same mood that the original game had), but all the glorious QOL features make up for it.

Only disappointment gameplay wise is the change to the tools, to make for a more traditional SOS experience when it comes to upgrading your tools. Makes a lot of friendship not so useful in this version, as you had to become friends with the villages to get better tools.

Soul is back on the menu for 2D Mario.

It's not often that someone come and succeed to outplay Nintendo at one of their core series. But Konami did with this one.

Some think that the GBA/DS Igavania are even superior, but imo, Symphony of the Night is still the very best 2D Metroid-like game ever made. It's beautiful, somehow scary and intimidating, hypnotising, accessible... A masterpiece that everyone must play.
