(Main patch)
Huge improvement over ARR especially in pacing, despite the couple low points (namely the second half of Sea of Clouds and the Moogle mini arc)

NEVERMIND 3.2 AND ESPECIALLY 3.3 MADE THIS A FUCKING MASTERPIECE WHAT

A decent introduction to the game and the world of FFXIV, but I'd be lying if I said it wasn't padded to high hell super unnecessarily to the point that pacing is thrown right out of the window. But overall, enjoyable enough

Update: most of the post-ARR patches are pretty boring (but some of the bosses are good), but the Crystal Tower questline and 2.5/2.55 alone make me think MUCH higher of ARR as a whole

The pinnacle of VR jank, even the fucking menu is jank and is impossible to open lmao

That said, neat game, but not worth any more than £5

Thank you, SomeCallMeJohnny, for your brief explanation of what happens in this game in your video from 2017.

I cannot be FUCKED with this game

It's... okay? Has some absolutely asinine design decisions and there is literally only one or two good bosses in the entire game but I suppose it was charming enough to be worth my time

Aged like already-expired milk

Now that I've actually played Kingdom Sharts I'll have to start telling people that my name is NOT a KH reference

This game is like a 4.5/5 with mods but insanely mid without

Only buy on a platform where modding is possible, including Quest 2 (although I'd recommend the Steam version over any other)

Also install the legacy launcher and launch through there, to stop you from having a headache every time the game is updated and every mod breaks

Cases 1 and 3 were just alright, Case 2 was good but Case 4 and 5 were genuinely great

Overall though? Great start to the series and I'm certainly looking forward to playing more

(fuck the spirit medium shit though that shit's AAAAAAASS)

Damn, this game went way harder than it had any right to. Apart from a few moments where the side content structure became pretty obnoxious, this is probably pretty peak as far as modern JRPGs go

A wholesome story about family and bonds, rated E for Everyone

whose idea was it to let people jump in ranking stuff
dripless SMB1 + 2

I'm like that Jack guy from that FF spinoff game but replace Chaos with Futaba Sakura

the only thing that's actually good about this game is the visuals

The story is bland as all hell, the pacing is horrifyingly bad for the most part but everything else managed to hold my attention and it definitely has the best OST of the year, buuut I'd be lying if I said I didn't kinda regret spending a whole £50 on it, it's definitely not worth that much

I have a feeling I'd be much more alright with this game though if it weren't a sequel but rather its own IP, the fact that this is the follow-up to TWEWY urks me because of how much it tries to replicate TWEWY in its narrative, but ends up falling flat because TWEWY was a very character-driven story whilst NTWEWY is very much more focused on the lore/world (not to mention the... much worse character writing lol)
