is there anything in particular you're looking for in a game you'd play specifically in Japanese? all of these games have English localizations, 4/6 of them are official. there's a lot of things i could recommend but i'm wondering what the threshold is here where you'd prefer a game in Japanese rather than English

Very loose with it - just stuff that is more fun in Japanese I was feeling like language practice wise. Wasn’t thinking too much about it. Stuff that was never officially ported to a Western system and games that culturally make more sense in original format/Japanese language than English, I guess?

Heracles no Eikō I-IV (III and IV are the good ones)
Tengai Makyō II: Manji Maru (or any Tengai Makyō but again, II is the best one)
G.O.D: Mezameyo to Yobu Koe ga Kikoe
Planet Laika
Monster World IV
if Chulip is on here you should smoke L.O.L.: Lack of Love (and all the other Love de Lic games that never actually got localized, most of them haven't been)
Kaze no Notam
Famicom Bunko: Hajimari no Mori

None of these have official translations but some of them have fan patches. Not sure how many do but certainly not all. If I can think of more pressing ones I'll drop by again, but off the top of my head these are the ones you'd probably be the most interested in
