My Top 25 Favorite Games of All Time

It's always hard for me to think of my top whatever favorite games of all time so I thought about it for way too long and I've finally come up with a list I feel comfortable with.

Keep in mind this list is extremely personal so if you feel like one or two games don't deserve to belong on this list you'd probably be right, but this is my list so my say goes.

Sly 3: Honor Among Thieves
Sly 3: Honor Among Thieves
This at number one for super personal reasons so I won't explain why it's at the top spot

1

Psychonauts 2
Psychonauts 2
Psychonauts 1 was Super imaginative, had great platforming, great writing, and a fantastic art direction. Ok now just take all of that, but do it 10 times better. HOOLLLYYYY SHIT this is a good ass game.

2

Bugsnax
Bugsnax
The game drew me in with its quirky visuals and addicting gameplay, but it kept me with one of my favorite heartfelt stories in video games, and some of the best-written characters I've ever seen in video games.

3

Night in the Woods
Night in the Woods
This game is soooooo close to home it honestly makes me super depressed on how close it gets at times, but you know in the admirable sort of way.

4

Disco Elysium: The Final Cut
Disco Elysium: The Final Cut
I can't say much that other people haven't already said but to keep it short, this is an outstandingly beautiful game from both presentation and narrative themes. I always love stories like the ones in Disco Elysium since it a message that I feel will always be important for anyone to hear, and to top it all off it's stupidly engaging with some of the best writing I've ever seen/heard in a video game.

5

Saints Row 2
Saints Row 2
One of the parameters I have for games with customization is whether or not I can make a good Fred Durst in them. This game passes with flying colors.

6

Resident Evil 4
Resident Evil 4
Perfection of the blend between survival horror and stupid over the top action. No other game in this genre has been able to capture that this game did

7

Fallout: New Vegas
Fallout: New Vegas
It's both the best Fallout game I've played and the gold standard of Western RPGs to this very day.

8

Soma
Soma
Its story and setting can be reminiscent of other games, but the way it executed its ideas and themes makes it stand out so much more than its contemporaries. Is the game scary n-no not really, the monsters that chase you in areas feel more stitched on to make it feel scarier and it doesn't really work, granted most horror games don't scare me besides VR games so idk if it's just a me thing.

9

Silent Hill 2
Silent Hill 2
This just in, autistic gamer says a critically acclaimed game is a masterpiece. Surprises no one.

10

Alan Wake II
Alan Wake II
14 years and Remady somehow hit it out of the park with one of my new all time bangers, and to think..........it's all because Epic wanted a new exclusive game for their shitty pc store front and have nearly infinite amounts of cash to throw around. Good on you Sam Lake and co......good on you for gaming the system.

11

Luigi's Mansion
Luigi's Mansion
It was my first "horror" game, it's super replayable, really fun gameplay, and it's a better ghostbusters game than the actual ghostbusters game.......yeah you heard me.

12

Prey
Prey
One of the most innovative and memorable FPS's I've ever played.

13

Baldur's Gate 3
Baldur's Gate 3

14

Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines
Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines
As the game stand for me I absolutely adore a lot about this game from the outstanding game design, to the fantastic writing and voice acting; this is one of those very special video games where all the pieces fall together in place to make a magical time, and then big fat bully Kotick stomps over and knocks down the building boxes and tells them “rebuilding it in 5 hours or else you're blacklisted”. It’s not a perfect game as much as I feel like I’m making it out to be, it’s still jank as fuck even with all the bugs ironed out in the unofficial patch and maybe the combat is too simple for it’s own good, but dammit I love the soul dammit. Games like these don’t come out nearly as much anymore, games that have fantastic sections like the Ocean Hotel or the side mission in the crackout in downtown where you fight all the plaguebearers. This game was made by people who genuinely love the medium of video games and dammit I think there’s some merit in that.

15

Spec Ops: The Line
Spec Ops: The Line
This game is basically a video game form of the book Heart of Darkness, man oh man do I love me some existential dread about the horrors of war.

16

Return of the Obra Dinn
Return of the Obra Dinn
Quite possibly the best detective game ever made mostly because it’s one of the very few detective games that actually need you to think about the whole situation in mind and pay attention to every little detail possible. In my mind it’s a perfect video game in both presentation and everything is laid out, and it’s among the very few games that make perfect use of the best aspects that make video games stand out as its own medium of storytelling.

17

Red Dead Redemption 2
Red Dead Redemption 2
The game can feel slow at times but it's still held up by its amazing writing, fantastic open-world design, and it's gorgeous visuals

18

Mass Effect 2
Mass Effect 2
While it feels like a stop in the road for it's overall story it makes up for it by having the best characters in the whole series.

19

Persona 5 Royal
Persona 5 Royal
There are very few games that I genuinely love with a burning passion, Persona 5 is one of them.

20

Banjo-Kazooie
Banjo-Kazooie
Super charming, fantastic level design, fantastic writing, fantastic music, everything is just fantastic.

21

Yakuza: Like a Dragon
Yakuza: Like a Dragon
Some of the best writing, characters I've seen in a JRPG, and has the most charismatic protagonist I've seen in a video game in a long time.

22

No More Heroes III
No More Heroes III
Suda51 made his grand return with NMH3 and pretty much took everything good from the past 3 games, mixed it all together, and then doubled down on what made it good. My boys this game is certified kino.

23

Doom Eternal
Doom Eternal
Doom Makes me Coom

24

Dead Space 2
Dead Space 2
While it's not as focused on horror as DS1 it still has those horror moments while also having the big bombastic stupid moments.
It's a horror game that can have its cake and eat it too.

I love a Hat in Time
but my Favorite Games of All Time are all games that have connected with me on a personal level.
Or are games I have unconditional love for like Sonic Unleashed, Saints Row 2, and Afro Samurai
