It's like City, but better in every conceivable way. This feels like Portal going to Portal 2, where the original gets credit for creating the premise and the second only expands upon and improves it. This is one of my favorite games.

This game is so incredibly in-depth which is both where it shines and where it can make it difficult to play. When you get a good run and are invested in it, it's very fun. If you're looking for traditional roguelikes, this is a great place to start as long as you know what you're in for.

This is a game I randomly return to and will play for maybe 30 minutes, but it's a great game for what it is. It is fun to play in the background, and the mechanics are all solid. I will say some of the UI is a bit unintuitive but it's made up for in the fun moment-to-moment gameplay.

This game is not bad and is overall well designed, but as a huge fan of the Arkham series I just got tired of this game after a while. The combat and mechanics do somewhat scratch the itch, but otherwise it feels like I'm playing an episode of High School Musical instead of the grungy and dark atmosphere of Gotham. It's a personal preference thing, but I just found the game way too corny for my taste.

A wonderful game and still holds up in 2024.

2018

I'm a huge fan of roguelikes and roguelites and this game just strikes me as a pretty good roguelite. It's not bad by any means, there are just many better rogues to play out there in my opinion. The story aspect is neat, but the runs all feel samey and it gets pretty old pretty fast.

One of the best roguelites. What the runs lack in specing a 'build' with items (like TBoI), it makes up for in numerous characters and abilities which are a blast to unlock. It's a great game, and personally is my favorite sound track of all time.

Good game. I think it's a bit overstated just how good it is though. It's a well put together game with a good soundtrack, story, and great platforming. A good experience, but nothing groundbreaking or mind blowing here. Doesn't overstay it's welcome which I appreciate.

This game has no business being this good. I love turn-based strategy, but games like XCOM always left me drowned in a pool of mechanics and attachments "for a 2% buff to crit change when at an angle". The in-depth tuning is likely a strength for many, but this game focuses on making the combat easy to understand yet very fun.

It's a wonderful game. Some of the best controls and smoothest movement in any platformer period, and tons of content.

Great game and expands well on the first game. I enjoyed it a bit more, but the first has it's place for being so unique.

People will sing high praise over and over again, but I'll provide my honest opinion. As someone who has only recently played any of the Zelda games, I came in with no attachment to this franchise. I've tried to play this game probably 4 or 5 times and each time I force myself to play it until I eventually give up. It looks pretty but if you're not a fan of the series, it's just kind of... eh.

Great game, I've never played a game like this. Good atmosphere, combat, upgrades, and overall was a fun experience. Except the final boss, that was horse shit.

Strong start, and only gets more tedious the more you play. I think they added way too many mechanics way too quickly and the gameplay suffers for the second half.

I think this game just isn't for me. I get the same vibes as a game like Link's Awakening, except I don't care at all about the story. It feels like the game tried so hard to be mysterious and vague that I just ended up not caring at all.
