high impact moments
idk, just wanted to make a list of individual bits/segments throughout games that left lasting impressions whether due to scale, strangeness, aesthetics, emotional impact, scare factor, or otherwise. kinda a broad criteria but i guess this can function as something of a "favorite moments in gaming" list or whatever.
probable spoilers within the notes of each entry obvs. read at your own risk if you care.

finally making it into the pillbox after multiple failed attempts only to have any potential relief thwarted when my ass got lit up/it was revealed that the combat outside was very much still ongoing.

beach entry in The Silent Cartographer
track 11 in full
honestly most of the game from Act 3 and on but the big standout moment for me was after Conway went with the skeletons at the distillery. during this a skull and button prompt popped up and i panicked because i didn't know what it was going to do. when it ran out without me hitting anything Homer stayed behind.
a bit after this as the episode was ending Homer went to lay by Conway's truck and it hit so fucking hard.

what i was thinking about when deciding to make this list.
everything involved with going into the abyss was a nightmare.
the ending right before the credits roll is probably the most upset i've ever been because of a game. 😭
