I'm going to say no with BotW. I don't think it's OST is all that unorthodox frankly not all that experimental. Though I have the bias of simply not understanding why people lose their shit over that game's music. Part of what makes these examples interesting is that they're sort of surprising and weird. But as for Robocop, sure!

Feel like Rain World’s got some nice surges but you probably know the soundtrack better than I do.

It does have some weirdness but I think the fact that the game itself is pretty out there means it's not disarming. Same reason something like Cruelty Squad or Silent Hill aren't on here.

would LSD dream emulator fit in here? i've always felt like if a strange creepy surrealist exploration game like that was made by anyone else, they'd go with the easy route of giving it dark ambient music as opposed to goofy-sounding idm stuff. even though i know of the soundtrack before i ever played it, it still managed to strike me as unexpected

as mentioned before, I think the fact that LSD is already an experimental game known for being bizarre means it can't be disarming in the way these other entries are

- Maybe I'm talking a bit from memory, but I think that Spyro and Ratchet's OSTs were quite distinctive.
- I was also surprised with the OST from Wendy: Every Witch Way.
- Earthbound is another clear pick for me. And the first Donkey Kong Country (like Northern Hemispheres or Aquatic Ambiance)
- I'd say that some tracks of Dragon Quest IV are experimental (like Balloon's Flight). Or just the way the game plays with its music, like each character having its own overworld and battle music, depending on who is leading the party. Of course there's variety in music styles.
- Some Rance games (eroge) include experimental soundtracks, but for now I haven't played one that the majority is like that. Stil interesting to hear tho.
