huss sometimes i wonder if you're even sentient
River City Ransom 1
@tauranoro i just realized "ape out" was a suggestion and not a statement. this is cool and very fitting thank you
@limp_mantis eh i think rcr is pretty standard as far as beat em ups go. there's nothing super impactful about it compared to most other games in the genre. most an enemy's gonna do after getting hit is launch upward with no real forward momentum there

hell yeah
bonks adventure
Is the title supposed to be literal? Cause if so Rocket Robot on Wheels should be an obvious add.
@toasterninja yeah it's pretty self explanatory. just games that feel very weighty
rocket robot is a good pick, thanks. i dunno how i missed that

dead space
Max Payne 3 is very "weighty" id say
Letha league?
While we're on topic, Midnight Sun has a lot of problems but damn the attacks there carry a lot of punch. Pure oomph.
Great list idea by the way

max Payne 3
@jackier thanks, though in the case of midnight sun i'd argue that it looks pretty stiff overall. the attack animations mostly use slow motion to convey impact but the actual animation itself as well as the whole game besides the attack animations feels pretty lifeless
@huss i wouldn't say max payne 3 is any weightier than something like uncharted or even dozens of other third person shooters. it's pretty standard. i'd much sooner place something like kane & lynch 2 just because of how heavy the weapons in that feel. but it's not totally consistent across the game iirc

this list got me to play killzone 2 and damn WEIGHT is right, really cool game
i feel like post void wld be a great add to this list. some of the best feeling, most impactful fps combat in my limited experience w the genre. feels so good to one shot dudes nd do headshots that that alone has kept me replaying it over nd over again.
