"Post-Boomer-Shooters"

Pretty broad "genre" I find myself using to categorize some of my favorite games, essentially in and around the release of Half-Life I feel the storybased First-Person Shooter genre really started experimenting, in the same way Post-Punk experimented with the framework of Punk music while still keeping its core values in tact, these games that I deem as "Post-Boomer-Shooters" carry along alot of the core ideas of Boomer-Shooters, be it the expansive levels of Doom, the increased level of interaction of Duke Nukem, or the technical leaps forward of Quake. This genre takes place before what I call the "Cinematic Shooter" i.e Call of Duty and the likes which with a linear path and almost zero interaction with the level stand as the total opposite of the Boomer-Shooter. Feel free to suggest or question entries in the comments
