Chronicling 2023
Removing the pretense of this being some Good 2023 Fiction bit, not sure what I was on. This is totally just an excuse to micro-blog impressions in a fun attempt at covering the year wholesale. Enjoy second-to-minute rambles

Kill it with fucking fire
Really really really really cute
"We have KH at home"
>KH at home
Well translated combat it may be indeed, but this is the most lifeless shell that it could've been attached to. There's no vibes, absolutely bitchless setting to me.
I went back and tried it on its critical mode just to be sure, and while that does a lot for it it doesn't do a lot for me. Can see the vision now tho. I'll come around to it eventually

Trying this out when I'm feeling a light bit of isolation has this cut into me, but, it's lacking stuff. And I think that stuff is friction, multiplicity to its central theme of finding within others a place to call "Home". It takes the softest approach there, and as welcome as that is, I can't help but think it's missing some of the idea of Why Moon RPG and such like it is duplicitous in its teachings, its agonies, its pains, to come to understand love. In that way, I worry this never really gets to the heart of a found home. Even if it's nice how unconditional that is (and again, welcome). Maybe, perhaps, it reveals more of that as the world goes on?
Actually yknow, belay all of that shit. It's making me think a lot about what I'm doing with my life and the found families I'm with. That's worth a lot more than most here

These horror games are draining on me ">~<
Terrifying and incredibly inventive in its direction. Though I've been told it drops a lot of the actual 'gameplay' part after the prologue ends, it's still fascinating even if said prologue doesn't give much of any to chew on. That's part of the idea in a sense, since you are Mr. Visual Novel Man That Will Die in approximately One Route. Interested in coming back to this one for sure

Finished - While I wouldn't go "innovation in narrative design" I do think this direction is something to celebrate regardless of the tacky skeleton. Just such a sick spiraling journey that I can't hate it for long
Super cool in a vacuum but not something I could ever wholeheartedly stick with, I think. Just too much of a vacuously unimpactful vibe
Cozy, pretty nice warm blanket, but kind of weak structurally. Nice comfort food though, for the jrpg soul
Crazy, but not my thing x3 I don't know if I enjoy this sort of arcadey Desync-HyperDemon-and-etc. inpulse to overload the eye and obfuscate with noise
