Might seem like an odd choice, but the lack of in-level music, the cavernous quality of many of the stages, and the low draw distance can give the game an eerie feeling. Then there's the Atlanteans.

Great list!! If you're taking suggestions I would consider That Night, Steeped By Blood River. Maybe more in the abstract/surreal direction than what you're looking for but it jumped instantly to mind when I saw the list description.
