I’m looking into games that are considered influential to modern day gaming in Japan and found this fun ranking website that has different themes where contributors can add their own two cents! It’s fun to see what people in Japan say for a lot of different game rankings as they had access to a lot of games that players in the West never received. Making these lists also makes it easier for me to look back to when looking up stuff to add to my big boy master list, too. Also, lists are just fun!

I’m just looking at lists on minna no ranking, which just basically means “Everybody’s Ranking” because I like the additional comments people can add explaining their reason for their ranking, which makes it more personal.

This list focuses on people’s Top 100 Role-Playing Games. They mention that the genre gained popularity in the 1980's with Dragon Quest and Final Fantasy. Here is the link to the ranking, but I highly suggest having some kind of ad-blocker before going on, lmao.
